Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Okay all I have a major problem. Every time I eat I have to fart.....Loud farts to... I go back to work on Monday and I don't know what to do. I teach and I can not be walking around a bunch of 5th graders and fart all day. How embarrassing? Does anyone else have this problem?

It's nice to read everyone is doing good.

Okay I'm getting frustrated here. Ladies I must be the slowest loser ever. I'm a little over 3 weeks out and lost 15 lbs. Then I gained one lbs and lost it... So confusing.. ugh!

Your in the 3 week stall. Mine lasted for 2.5 weeks and started 10 days after surgery. It kicked back into gear last week and I have only lost 15lbs since surgery. Don't compare yourself to other people as it all depends on what you started at etc. Also taking my measurements helped a lot because even though the scale wasn't moving (even went up 2lbs) i was losing inches. Hang in there.

Thanks for your encouraging words. You are right I should and I am happy with what I've lost. I did start under the 200's and I am just so,so happy that my new tool is working for me in other ways... Since surgery my diabetes has been in remission, my cholesterol and liver function are now normal and my high blood pressure is no more! So I am actually very thankful that if I haven't lost much weight I've lost the comorbitites. That was the main reason I had the sleeve done. I guess I will lose slowly but surely. Thanks.

I am the same way. Just when I think the scale is moving I gain that pound back. It's so frustrating!!

Yep- 3 week stall. I only lost the first week and stalled for another week. It'll kick back in gear. Make sure you're drinking 64 ounces and getting your Protein in. :)

Oh my, I was laughing out loud on this post! Yep, if there was one thing that I have learned from this whole adventure is NEVER NEVER trust a fart! I swear you never know if it will be a true fart or worse THE S-H-A-R-T. And THAT my friend would NOT be a good thing in front of 5th graders! Good luck with that. Will Beano help with that I wonder???

& I think you will work your way up to 800 - don't be scared of carbs either, my nurse said anything from 30-45 or even 50 is ok - of course my fitness pal I have mine set @ 1000 b/c that's my eventual goal but it shows I can have way more carbs then even 50 but I try to keep it 40 or less but a few days I went over by a few... I'm not back @ work yet but will be soon so I need to be thinking of Snacks & etc i can take... I've been snack'n on the Protein Bar all day off & on

Girl @ this point I'm on whatever foods i can stand, my nurse just said eat as tolerated - obviously can't eat a big ole steak but yes I had a Protein bar, I been eat'n - certain things go down better then others but I've had no sickness from anything I have ate... If you prefer to ask your nurse you can but I just went for it today, cause I'm sick of the shakes & I'm not really get'n my protein in - I had bought some protein mix & got it home & hated it...- I'm try'n to eat my protein not drink it -

Yey! We r almost a month :). I almost bought a Protein bar but chickened out because of calories or carbs. I feel like I can eat a lot but maybe I'm not? Yesterday and now today for the first time I feel like eating is a chore. Before that it was cravings galore! Maybe it's out of my system?

Glad you are doing better :)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
