Recommended Posts

I have a question for you please. I had my surgery 10 days ago, Ive never be active, so I'm walking everyday now, but by the time I'm done I am so tired. What should I start doing and to what extent. I have no idea what to do. Thanks in advance for your advice

I too started fairly early....a little earlier than my Dr allowed actually. But I also knew what I was doing as I've been lifting for years and have recovered from other surgeries (torn bicep, shoulder surgery, etc). So I knew to ease into it. I started back just getting the motion and technique down with really light weights and added a little each week. Jimmy makes a good point about it helping with excess skin. I've had zero problems with that.

Pretty much anything Jillian michaels. I especially love combining her body revolution series and yoga slim down. Omg. So good. Great mix of cardio, strength training and yoga poses.

HI, I am getting a sleeve on 13th dec, i weigh 209lbs,5'5inches tall and 25yrs of age -- i have no help on the gyming front, thus i shall be grateful if you could help me. Me and my parents stay in different cities and i plan to go home to them on 16th Dec, 3days after the surgery and shall be back to my city of work on 31st dec so i will have access to a gym only from 1st Jan 2013.

What should be my game plan immediately after the surgery, should i go for long walks twice a day while im back home, my dad goes walking so i will have company too. I also plan to start cycling, how soon will you recommend that, what else should i do in the 3weeks that follow surgery, when i will not have access to a gym.

I'm 65 years old and 5 weeks post op. my arms and legs look and feel like Jello in a bag. Is it to soon to get someone at the YMCA to help me with weights or resistance training? I am a female with arthritis and 2 year old knee replacements.

If you are new to exercise start out slowly. I walked 5-10 every 2-3 hours initially. Right now it's about healing. Eventually you'll move to working out once a day. I'm up to 25 mins of walking.

Don't try any other exercises until your doctor oks it. The build up from there. Before you know it you'll be a regular.

Question should we be focusing more on weights than cardio? I have been doing weights and cardio together at the gym but I recently heard it should be something like 3 days weights and 2 days cardio..

Pilates is amazing for all body parts - I used to work with a trainer just for Pilates and I was amazed at how strong I was!

BTW - Just requested to join your FB group! :)

Is this group just for support or excercise? Why do I feel like I'm missing something?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
