Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

  • Popular Post

I wanted to start a forum for members who are pre or post op and are 5'2" and under. I am 4'9" and post-op. In 4 months, I have lost over 50 lbs and would like to connect with others of my body type so we can compare stories and support each other.

My first visit to the doc the nurse measured me and said...oh I'm not sure it's quite 5'. I gave her a very stern look and asked her to check again......

NSV!!! Jogged 2 miles straight on the treadmill tonight! It felt wonderful, 6 weeks out 30 lbs lighter:) what a great feeling.

I am 4' 10" so I think I am the shortest one on this forum...LOL I am one year and two months out from my surgery...I started at 179.5 lost 5 pounds prior to my surgery and now I am at 130. I am so glad I did this surgery I wish I had known about it and had it done years ago.

I'm 4'10, scheduled for sleeve next week. I had a lap band that was unsuccessful due to placement. I had it removed in June and had to wait for my stomach and ulcer to heal. I am ready to go now! I think I may be the biggest on here with my peak being 273, I'm currently at 253, so I have a lot of work ahead of me! I'm so ready! Any suggestions going into surgery? Oh yeah...I am traveling from Texas to my hometown in Florida for the surgery. I have a wedding to attend 4 days post op and after my post op appointment (10 days post op) I will be flying back alone with my strong willed 4 yr old...am I crazy or what?!?

I am 4'11". Vertically challenged so I needed the vertical sleeve!

Highest was 188. Preop was 175. Surgery was sept 18 and yesterday weigh in was 152.2. I'll take that!!

I am 5"2' and 3-weeks out from surgery. I have lost a total of 20 pounds since starting the prep surgery. I have hit a stall.......In this 3rd week the scale is not budging....ugh very discouraging. Planning on ramping up on exercise this week any hoping to see the numbers start dropping.

Hang in there, I hit a stall about 3 weeks in as well. I started eating a little more. Don't think I was getting enough to eat.

WOOHOO Shawty represent!!! 5'2" Pre-Op! Hopefully getting sleeved in November!

Hi everyone!

I posted quite a while ago, but just wanted to give an update. I'm 5'1.5'' and started at 264lbs. My surgery was on 6/12 and I'm am now down 59lbs!! Can't wait to get under 200 and into "Onederland!" My weight loss has really slowed lately and I've had several weeks of plateaus (which are NO fun!). I'm ramping up my exercise and working with a trainer, so I think that will help. I've also slacked off a bit on counting my daily Protein intake so I need to get back on that as well. However, I do find if the scale is not moving for me my inches are!

I am SO happy to have my sleeve. Having this surgery was THE best decision that I've made. :)

Best wishes to all of my "short sisters!"

That is an awesome loss:) Keep up the good work!!!

5' 2.75" still counts as 5'2", right? I'm scheduled for 11-05-12. I've gained 6 lbs since I decided to do surgery. Hope to lose that and then some on the pre op diet.
