  1. Now that I'm sleeved, losing weight is easy. BUT, the thought of eating what I want is constantly on my mind. At times I'm so frustrated that I can't have what I "want" that I just don't eat at all. Does this ever change? Quitting smoking cold turkey was sooo much easier.
  2. I'm just wondering if anyone has the Flex yet. I just went online to buy one and it say's they are unavailable for 6-10 weeks! Oiy! I don't want to wait that long and wondering if it's worth the extra to purchase it on eBay because I'm inpatient and don't want to wait.

    Throwing Up Chewble Vitamins!

Zija Moringa. If you go to FB page Moringa's Ninety Nutrients and tell them your a bariatric patient they will give you a discount. It's organic and 100% absorbable unlike other vitamins that are 8-10% absorbed. It has every vitamin from a-z. I no longer have to take anything but this, including the 19 meds I was on. I'm saving $70 a month on vitamins and supplements that I was taking and over $300 on prescription co-pays a month. Great deal and the best thing for us bariatric patients.

    The sleeve and hair loss.

Zija Moringa is what stopped my hair from falling out. It's organic and 100% absobable unlike other vitamins that are only 8-10% absorbable. It is a mix that you mix with water. I was able to stop all other vitamins and b12 injections within a week of taking it, and, I've been able to come off all 19 of my meds, even those that weren't weight related, within two weeks. It's pretty amazing. It has every vitamin from a-z, 7x the vit C in oranges, 4x the vit A in carrots, as much as 4 servings pork has of Vit B, as much as 4 servings Calcium in that of milk, as much protein as 2 servings of yogurt, as much potassium as 3 bananas, just to name a few. It is used in 3rd world countries that have malnourishment epidemics. What sold me was not what I mentioned in the last few sentences, but that it's a creation of God, not man. Moringa's Ninety Nutrients is a FB page with more info and a discount for bariatric patients. Just have to message them and tell them your a bariatric patient. I was paying twice the price for all the vitamins and supplements as what this is and in addition I'm also saying over $300 a month on prescription co-pays that I no longer have to fill.

    Suggestions?

Get all food that you'll need for yourself and your family (as much as you can). Going to the grocery store is torture for the first 4-6 weeks. Also, if you haven't figured out which protein shakes (if your going to ) use and vitamins you should stock up on that too. I ordered a variety of shakes samples from vitalady.com and I take Zija Moringa instead of traditional vitamins that only have a 8-10% absorbsion rate.
  6. Don't let this bother you. The people in the hospital deal with it all the time. It's no issue for them, so don't let it get you down. You'll be medicated and won't care at that point. Enjoy your last few day's as your "old" self so you can be the best you can as new. Good luck to you!

    So tired!

I was too exhausted. However, since doing research and talking to people about vitamins ect. I found out that majority of vitamins are only 8-10% absorbable. I started taking Zija Moringa in about month 4 or 5 post op and feel amazingly better. It's organic and 100% bioavalability (absorbed). If your on FB you can go to page of, Moringa's Ninety Nutrients for more info. I swear by it, it's the best of the best. There are two people that I know for sure started taking it from here and both feel the same way I do about it. I no longer have to take any vitamins or give myself b12 injections. Zija has every vitamin from a-z.
  8. My BMI was over 50 so I qualified without having to have any or do anything. However, we are going through this with my husband right now. They told us that since his BMI is over 35, he doesn't have to have a co-morbidity. We also have Fed BCBS. Have you consulting with a surgeon yet? They can usually get more accurate information than what they will give us over the phone. Also, I agree with prior post...ask your PCP for a sleep study to rule it out. That could be your IN without any problems getting approval. Good luck to you. This has been the best decision I've ever made for myself. 8 mths out and 113lbs down.

    Support Groups?

Anyone know of any other support groups online for the sleeve? I tried finding some on FB, but there isn't much just for the sleeve.

    Vitamins, Supplements, etc.

Yes, if your just mixing the powder, it's disgusting. Zija has 3 different kinds and all have a different taste. I prefer the taste of XM+, however, I take SuperMix which is the worst out of the 3 in my opinion (however, the best product imo) I add organic pineapple juice to it so I can't taste it and it actually is a good mix for it. If I run out of juice, I take the XM+ with just water, that one is good.
  16. I am 7 mths out, down over 110 lbs and of course, like most started losing hair at about 4 mths out. A few months ago I was introduced to Moringa. Moringa Oleifera is a tree that grows in countries like India, Philippines, and a few others. It's been known to treat and prevent over 300 diseases, has been used for nourishment for malnourished children and nursing mothers in countries where it is an epidemic, and it's of course all natural. It has 25 times more iron than spinach, 4 times more protein than in eggs, 10 times more viamin A than in carrots, 17 times more calcium than in milk, 15 times more potassium than in bananas, 7 times the Vitamin C in oranges, 2 times the protein in milk, and that just touches the surface. It's known as the most nutrient rich plant on earth. In addition, it is 100% bioavailablity which means that it's 100% absorbable unlike the vitamins we take in a tablet or capsule that are only 8-10% absorbable. Since taking Moringa, which by the way is a mix that you mix with water, I am no longer losing hair and am no longer on any of my my 19 medications or vitamins. I only take Moringa. I had labs done a few weeks ago to check cardiac, thyroid, and arthritic labs and they were all better than perfect, even better than they were when I was on the meds. Don't take my word for it, do the research, but it is absolutely amazing. I'm saving over $300 a month now on medications and vitamins since I'm no longer having to take them and I feel soooo much better off my meds. In addition to Moringa being a benefit to weight loss patients like us, it has other benefits like skin health, anti-aging, wound/scar healing, and much more. I just want this support group to know about it because I know it is something we all as weight loss patients will benefit from. There are a lot of awesome articles and videos to see. Natural News has some good articles and The Discovery Channel did a documentary that is available on YouTube. There is a Facebook page, Moringa's Ninety Nutrients that has lots of the research and if you send a message saying your a bariatric patient will give it to you at wholesale. Just trying to spread the word, especially since talking to a bariatric patient the other day who is in renal failure and has a full set of dentures from malnourishment after bariatric surgery. It's so sad and none of us want to end up that way.

  19. Wow, everyone is doing awesome! Of course we all heard that we would be successful, but if ya'll are like me, nothing in the weight loss department has ever been successful. So, it was, I'll believe it when I see it, for me. I still don't see it in the mirror, but I certainly do on the scale! So, here's my latest: Just hit 6 months post op, HW 273 and CW 170. I'm so proud of myself and am off all of my meds (15 in total) for asthma, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, anxiety, hypothyriodism, and several muscle relaxers and pain meds. I went to the dr today and left super ticked off. My door was cracked open and I overheard the medical asst talking to another office worker two doors down at the nurses station and this is what he said, "This girl is on Clonopin, Norco, (and he went down the list of my former meds) and shes complaining of palpitations, no wonder she has palpitations..." I got up, walked out there, and said, "my door IS cracked open!" and walked back in the room. I didn't get an apology or anything! When the dr came in, he discussed my urine with me and asked me to call in the morning because he thinks it may be my thyroid levels and at that point I said, "well I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Clonopin, Norco, or other meds I'm no longer taking unlike what you medical asst was discussing regarding my medication history with the nurses station." I thought I was going to have to pick him up, he didn't respond for several seconds and then apologized saying that they'd get my records straightened out. So, I said, "well it's not the records I'm concerned about. My concern is that your medical asst discussed my medical history with someone other than anyone he was giving report to and haven worked in a hospital for 12 years, I know a little bit about my HIPAA rights." He walked out and I heard him giving him hell, but I still didn't get an apology. Errr, I'm still getting judged. I hate it! Sorry for the rant! On a better note, I just got through kidney stones without being hospitalized or having to have a stent unlike in the past! Here is my recent pic:
  20. Hi all. I am trying to share this as much as possible because I've had so much success with it. Moringa is a tree that grows so many miles from the equator and is used in countries where they are fighting malnutrition epidemics with phenomenal success. It also regulates blood sugar, cholesterol blood pressure, is an anti-inflammatory, and much more. In addition it is the most nutrient rich product available. There is a YouTube video that is a documentary from the Discovery Channel which is very interesting. It has like 92 nutrients and 2 times (gram for gram) the amount of Protein in milk, I believe it's like 4 times the Calcium in milk, 7 times the Vitamin C in an orange, and 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, plus much more. Anyway, the reason I'm sharing it is because I was sleeved in October. I've done great, however, started losing my hair in copious amounts about 4 months post op. It was not possible for me to add another medication to my already 15 I was taking daily as I was having a hard enough time swallowing what I had plus getting in my protein. So I researched alternative medicine and found Moringa. I've been taking it for two weeks now. Not only am I not losing anymore hair, but I'm completely off all my medications except one. That's 14 to be exact. I have been on asthma medication daily since I was a little girl and no longer need it nor have I had to use my rescue inhaler. I have osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, planar fasiitis, and herniated discs in my neck and no longer take any of those meds nor have I felt better since I was a teenager. I can't say enough good things about it. I took a leap of faith because I was spending $300 plus on pharmaceutical medications, Vitamins, ect. and I knew I couldn't afford those and Moringa, (It's approx $50-100 a month) but now I will be saving lots of money by not having to fill the other meds or buy all the vitamins and supplements. I even called my bariatric surgeon and told him that I thought he should look into it and consider recommending it for his patients because we lose so much (no pun intended:) I have done lots of research on this and can try to answer any questions, but here are the websites that I use the most and found the best info and best bang for the buck. Most of the perteniant information about Moringa is on both of these websites and there are video's including the documentary on both too. (I just checked to make sure:) www.facebook.com/ninetynutrients ninetynutrients.myzija.com I hope I can help and hope this can help many others as it's helped me.

It is a detoxifier it will do that for about a week. Ive never taken anything but zija so I don't know how the other products work but within a week I was no longer losing hair and within 2 I was off my meds. Long term benefits are a healthier you. You won't be deprived of nessecary nutrients because the moringa will pick up where your body drops off and balance you out. It's also very good for your skin, anti ager, anti wrinkle etc ...it is just amazing my kids used to get sick several times if not stay sick in the winter....not once this time not once but all their friend did, not them. Nutrician drink that's worked for me

It is nasty for sure at first. However, what I did was I added more water and organic pinapple juice. You can add apple juice too, but they say it's best if you add pinapple something about the enzymes. As far as the protein powder, it would probablly cover the taste, I've never tried it. Zija sells a Moringa protein power in chocolate and vanilla too, but I've never had them. The trick is that you have to suck it up and drink it even if it's little by little to build up and eventually you'll like it. My kids hated it and my husband was like, can I mix it with alcohol to kill the taste...lol but they all love it now.
