  1. There are several options, but purchasing it through the distributor is the cheapest because you can get it at wholesale cost that way.
  2. I emailed the distributor and ended up with a better deal than even what's on Amazon. FYI
  3. I have a history of kidney stones and can not take calcium. Also, I was hospitalized PO week 3 for dehydration/uti/kidney stones...so drink drink drink.
  4. I had to have my band removed prior because it was herniated and had to heal before I could get the sleeve. I gained I think like 20 plus lbs, but the food was grrreat.
  5. I have been horrible at eating at least 3 times a day. I had an egg for breakfast and my moringa drink today. I am cooking dinner though...pesto chicken with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes...yum my fav Have a good day ya'll!
  6. Hi all. I am trying to share this as much as possible because I've had so much success with it. Moringa is a tree that grows so many miles from the equator and is used in countries where they are fighting malnutrition epidemics with phenomenal success. It also regulates blood sugar, cholesterol blood pressure, is an anti-inflammatory, and much more. In addition it is the most nutrient rich product available. There is a YouTube video that is a documentary from the Discovery Channel which is very interesting. It has like 92 nutrients and 2 times (gram for gram) the amount of Protein in milk, I believe it's like 4 times the Calcium in milk, 7 times the Vitamin C in an orange, and 4 times the Vitamin A in carrots, plus much more. Anyway, the reason I'm sharing it is because I was sleeved in October. I've done great, however, started losing my hair in copious amounts about 4 months post op. It was not possible for me to add another medication to my already 15 I was taking daily as I was having a hard enough time swallowing what I had plus getting in my protein. So I researched alternative medicine and found Moringa. I've been taking it for two weeks now. Not only am I not losing anymore hair, but I'm completely off all my medications except one. That's 14 to be exact. I have been on asthma medication daily since I was a little girl and no longer need it nor have I had to use my rescue inhaler. I have osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, planar fasiitis, and herniated discs in my neck and no longer take any of those meds nor have I felt better since I was a teenager. I can't say enough good things about it. I took a leap of faith because I was spending $300 plus on pharmaceutical medications, Vitamins, ect. and I knew I couldn't afford those and Moringa, (It's approx $50-100 a month) but now I will be saving lots of money by not having to fill the other meds or buy all the vitamins and supplements. I even called my bariatric surgeon and told him that I thought he should look into it and consider recommending it for his patients because we lose so much (no pun intended:) I have done lots of research on this and can try to answer any questions, but here are the websites that I use the most and found the best info and best bang for the buck. Most of the perteniant information about Moringa is on both of these websites and there are video's including the documentary on both too. (I just checked to make sure:) www.facebook.com/ninetynutrients ninetynutrients.myzija.com I hope I can help and hope this can help many others as it's helped me.
  7. I started losing mine about 4 mths post op...heres a post i posted yesterday...hope it helps...good luck Hi all. I was sleeved in October. I am very pleased with my 90 lb weightloss. However, I have been losing sooooo much hair. So, I did hours, days, and weeks of research. I ended up ordering a product called moringa a few weeks ago. It is 100% organic, it is a tree grown so many miles from the equator, has 92 nutrients, 4x Calcium in milk, 3x potassium in bananas, 2x Protein in yogurt, 4x Vitamin a in carrots, and 7x Vitamin C in oranges. I have been taking this for 2 weeks, am no longer losing hair and have gotten off all my meds except 1 (synthroid, i dont have a thyroid) and that's out of 15! It's comes in a packet that you mix with 8-20 oz of Water and, coming from a picky person, its tasty. It's been used in 3rd world countries that are fighting malnourishment and has been very successful. I did lots of research and ended up with zija moringa. It's a little pricey, but it was the best I found with the best bang for your buck. The one I take is called supermix and I believe is double the nutrients. Anyway, I wanted to let ya'll know because I think it's something all of us sleevers should take to replace the important nutrients we lose when we have the surgery. The website is ninetynutrients.myzija.com and their FB page is ninetynutrients. There is a lot if info in the FB page too.

  9. I just posted about this yesterday...I've copied and here's the paste...Good luck!! Hi all. I was sleeved in October. I am very pleased with my 90 lb weightloss. 10. I use Zija Moringa Supermix instead of taking Vitamins, calcium, and b12. It's all natural and as far as calcium goes it's has 4 times (gram for gram) the amount of calcium that's in milk. It's also has many other benefits, like I stopped losing my hair just 2 wks after starting it and I'm only on 1 out of 15 medications (most were for anti-flammatory reasons, ie, asthma, fibromyalgia, planar fasiitis, and more) since starting it. It's awesome. I highly recommend it. ninetynutrients.myzija.com FB page is ninetynutrients Good luck all!
  11. It has, I believe don't quote me, but I think it's 4 times the protein in milk and yogurt. Protein loss contributes to hair loss.
  12. Yes, it's helped mine, I am not losing any at all and I've only been on it two weeks.

  15. HW 273 SW 257 CW 187 Due to my planar fasiitis, I still have not begun a rigorous exercise regimen, but I am happy with my loss to date. My BMI has gone from 57.1 to 37.8. I am off 12 of my 15 meds that I was on at surgery. I am thrilled with my sleeve!
  16. Oh and the portion that I make is two servings for myself.
  17. I'm not sure of all of the nutritional info. The stuffing has 110 calories, 1g fat, 21g carbs, and 3g protein per serving. For myself, I use about an 1 1/2 oz of ground turkey, 2 tbsp of stuffing, 3 cubes of 2% velvetta, and 1 tbsp of sundried tomatoes. It's probably 1/3 of the serving size on the box.
  18. I have bronchitis. My labs were good. My b12 was super high which I don't understand, but it is what it is. She recommended I wait 6 weeks to give myself the shot rather than 4. I have been downing Gatorade since I started getting sick, my UA was a little dark but I wasn't too dehydrated.
  19. Minkywinks...I am going to Urgent Care in the morning. I am super dehydrated and I think I'm getting sick again too. In addition to being home with the kids...I had my surgery in FL, but live in TX, my surgeon that did my surgery left the practice last month, AND, I just last week was "accepted" by a pcp (been trying to get one for 4 months now) and my appointment is July 31st! (healthcare SUCKS here) So, I'm going to see what urgent care can do. Maybe they can refer me sooner. But, I did get scoped at 3 wks post op when I was hospitalized. They said my sleeve was very narrow due to. They put me on prilosec 40mg twice a day and now I'm just on it once a day. The closest bariatric surgeon near me is 3 1/2 hrs away so I just ended up following up with the surgeon that did my surgery last month when I was in FL before he left. He asked me how much protein and I didn't know exactly so I just showed him about how much I was eating and he told me he thought I was getting enough. I didn't realize I wasn't getting enough protein until I started logging it in MFP. But, the dehydration thing...yeah I've known that of course. Anyway, I'm blabbing. Thanks for your concern! I'm going to go get checked out in the AM once I get my kids to school.
  20. Thanks for the greek yogurt idea! I haven't tried it with the pudding mix yet, BUT I mixed it with italian blend part skim shredded cheese and thyme as a substitute for sour cream....it was awesome!!!! It tasted JUST like Olive Gardens Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta! AND, it was loaded with protein! I posted the recipe in "Recipe Sharing" if anyone is interested!
  21. I just made this and it tastes JUST like Olive Garden's fattening version. 1/3 cup Italian Blend Shredded cheese Part Skim (I used the Wal Mart brand) 1 tbsp Plain ff Greek Yogurt 1 tbsp ff Sour Cream 1 tsp ground thyme Mix, place in ceramic bowl, and broil. Enjoy! I even added some chopped grilled chicken to add Protein. You can also add cayenne pepper to the mix and/or diced tomatoes to the top when finished.
  22. Unfortunatly, if I did that, it would take four "meals" to do so. I can only eat/drink of a protein bar or shake at once. So, I have been doing one or the other at least once per day. That's the best I can do without only doing shakes.
  23. I haven't tried the greek yogurt with pudding mix, but I will try that too. If I could eat an entire egg, turkey burger, or even drink a whole shake, etc. I don't think I'd struggle so much to get my protein in. However, that's not reality for me. I'm not losing hair yet, so hopefully I won't. I just don't know if there is any other issues that I could have as a result?? I spent the first week post op in ICU and the third week post op inpatient too for dehydration, UTI, and kidney stones. My hubby works in the oilfield and is out of town for a month or two so, being sick is out of the question considering I don't know anyone in my town and we have two kids. I do take my vitamins and get B12 shots, so hopefully that's enough to make up for the lack of protein. Thanks everyone for your help!!
  24. Thank Doc. It's been a while, I don't remember. I thought it was 90, but that doesn't make me right.
