I am scheduled for june 5. I am lucky and my mother wants to go with me.i do have a question though, if you are at the hotel and you need something, do you call, do they check on you a certain amount of times, if you are in pain, what do you do,etc??

Hi, I am a newbie...I was wondering how did it go Oahu? I too had heard things about Dr. Almanza and the his clinic that were not impressive. I would really appreciate hearing your story and how you felt about his clinic and the recovery house. I am looking to have bypass sleeve surgery in aug. It seems like most people don't write about the negative experiences so it is hard to know the truth.

Hi y'all, I'm going thru Rick at mexicosurgerysolutions and someone here said that what they wished they would have got was follow up care. Well I'm gonna get it here in the states. my surgery will be in a hospital, with an icu in Tijuana. While I'm there I'm actually escorted around by Dr Serrano, who will assist in my surgery. My surgery will be done by either Dr Lopez or Gonzalez (my choice). They are members of the BajaMed group and I was on this board aas guest just lurking and researching for over 4 months before I joined. I'm paying a little more, not much tho, and I'm getting after care nutrition counseling and a virtual gym partner. I just think that to decide who to trust your life with you should research, research and then research some more.

What do you mean by follow up care?

Well, once you get back in the USA you havean ongoing relationship with Rick. You aren't dropped off with a list of what to eat and go it alone. He provides not only nutritional support but also helps you with the physical fitness aspect. And of course you will always have access to your Dr. if you do have any sleeve related issues, U can go back and see your doctor at any time. They can explain it all. That's just in my words. What scared me a lot was that I'd get back and screw everything up. I'd be messing up and I guess BC i've done every diet in the world and always felt like a failure I thought I'd fail this too. I never saw it as it was the diet that failed and not me. I'm finished failing. Starting Saturday I'm gonna be on YouTube for my family to keep track. I have never ever even wanted my picture taken and now I'm gonna do that BC I want the accountability. And I know between that accountability and having Rick here in the USA to give me pointers I'm gonna do great. Or heck, maybe I just feel better knowing since he has the sleeve he knows what I'm talking about

Oh I gotcha!!! One of my questions for Dr Kelly was follow up care, too, including any potential complications. Insurance will NOT cover most off us so you have to be sure of your decision!

I live in So Cal so Dr K considers me "local" and is gonna be there for me post op.

That's awesome info! The most important thing is your comfort level! And that's awesome your coordinator has had the sleeve! What a great resource!

My aftercare is covered. I've already checked, and if I have any sleeve-related issues I'll go back and see Dr Serrano. Jeez, I'm sorry but he is definitely easy to look at. There is a pic of him on their Facebook page andhe is definitely a head Turner... EXCEPT for the leftover stomach he's holding. That was sort of a downer. Lmbo

That's exactly what I am doing! I figure if my insurance won't cover me no matter where I have surgery, I might as well go to Mexico!!! :)

I considered baja med group for my surgery. They sound really good but I didn't have enough reviews on them to go there. I still get emails from them once in a while and I don't mind :-) I will eventually either go to Mexico or Vegas for my Tummy Tuck after I lose all the weight.

Can you please write a review of your experience after you go for your surgery? There is not enough information on this company on the boards and I think some reviews would really help for people trying to decide. The aftercare sounds cool.

Are you kidding! I'm filming everything. I will get to see my stomach. I asked if I could and he said of course. If I glove up I can even touch it! What I like is that one of the surgeons it's the person that drives us, etc. as for your plastics, u do know that Dr Camacho-melo from cammel plastic surgery is a member of Baja Med group, don't u? If you get a chance go to mexicosurgerysolutions and look at his work. There are people that come from everywhere to use him. So my YouTube will be shesstrangelynormal.I'm doing my pre-surgery stuff on there all the way thru post surgery tomorrow

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
