Hi All!

I wanted to start a thread for African-American sleevers (no worries I HEART all sleevers from the rainbow). I just thought, no scientific proof, that African-American sleevers may respond to the surgery different than our lovely non-African American sleeved sisters and brothers. I wanted to know if we had the same skin issue, hair problems, and other surgery related issues. Also, how to deal with the culture shock. African-American "soul food" may be something of the past... or not. So I was just looking for a space to voice culture related issues and concens.

PS- I TRULY :heart: ALL SLEEVERS.

What did you guys use to fade scars?

Day 3 of my pre op diet down 9 lbs. Prayers sent to all who just got sleeved. My date is 11/11

What did you guys use to fade scars?

A friend of mine told me about coconut oil. I am just a week post op so we will see if it works.

I'm three months post op and have not used anything. My scars are fading, but not completely. What's the name oil? I had my 3 month check up today down 33 lbs. had labs done waiting on results, still struggling with 70-80 grams of protein and 64 ozs. Water. I've finally learned to drink plain water without any crystal light.

I messed up so bad! I have been eating candy, I have stalled.. It started with those stupid gummy vitamins! That wasn't enough I had to go get the real thing! Halloween came and I have been stealing all my kids snickers! HELP 911 SOMEONE PLEASE!!!

Don't beat your self up over a simple mistake. Correct the problem, you've come to far at this point. I've eating a few suckers, it not the end of the world. Go back and read over the food items to avoid your foot dine now. If you must trash those snickers. Tell your kids the ants got into them. Lol!

Hello everyone this is my first time on. I have read a lot of your stories and I am honored to say that I am motivated. At this time I have did everything I need to do for a date except I have Hpylori today was my last day taking the medication so hopefully when I get retested i am cleared away. Another thing I'm battling is hoping that I get approve I read a lot of stories about denied surgeries. My insurance is husky health A.

Pre op diet day 7. Down 20lbs. 7 more to go.

I'm a newbie. I love the stories and it makes me get excited. I'm waiting on approval now but hope to have the surgery around mid December.
