I just happened to bump up on this thread cause I was stalkin Seattle Sue! *lookin around to see if she sees me* :P

I will be 41 in December and have been proud to shout to the world for the past 8 months that I am 40 years old!

I have four children; my oldest who are girls, 18 and 15. My younger children are boys, and they are 6 and 4. I call the boys Terror and Mayhem. The girls are Mastercard & Visa.

I'm married to THE MOST caring and supportive person on this planet. Our 9th anniversary will be on September 1st. (for those of you doing the math, my older children were from a previous relationship, lol).

I woke up on my 40th birthday feeling brand new. It's funny because I was dreading the big Four Oh for quite some time. I woke up with the word FORTITUDE on my mind. I made it to forty and I decided that I was gonna have a great attitude about it. I had visions of making up t-shirts that read "Forty Tude" on them, but that project fell to the wayside. (I'm famous for that!)

Anywhoo, that's me in a nutshell. Trying to get sleeved so I can make it to live in my Fiftytude, Sixtytude, etc...

Forty Tude...I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol!!!!!

Welcome Everyone!!!!!! Our group is growing yayyy!

Hi - I'm Karen, I'm new here and have my surgery coming up very soon. I am 5'7" and 349. I am 48 years old living in Oregon and have been happily married for 25 years. We have four children 24, 22 and twins that are 18 and one grandson who will be 4 next month. We only have one left at home. I finally made the decision that it's now time for me to focus on me and to get myself healthy. I am so excited for my surgery date to be finalized, I can hardly wait. I love that I found this site, it has been an inspiration to me and the information in here is amazing. Thank you to all of you that share your life stories and photos. Would love to add some friends to my profile. Anyone from the NW out there???

Well, I wish I had found this forum sooner! I'm 45 and married/separated but working on it. I have two kids from a previous relationship, boys who are 25 and 21. I've spent most of my adult life fat and gaining. I was sleeved two weeks before my 45th birthday, so I consider my sleeve my gift to me!

I have to comment on the wedding dress picture... it looks like it's too big for you! :)

Looking forward to being slim for the rest of my adult life! :)

Hi, I'm 42, wife of 20 yrs, mother of 6 ( ages 3-23 ) and a grany to 2. My oldest son ( 19) was with me the other day and someone asked if his girlfriend wanted to try a food sample (me! ). I loved the nsv, but what was really great was the expression on my son's face. You would have swore someone stuck his foot in honey. lol

I had my sleeve done on August 15th and then I turned 40 at the end of August - what a way to enter the next decade! I'm looking forward to many years of good health. I like the post about the body being 40 but the mind not feeling that way. I think of that all of the time. My husband is a high school teacher and when I am in visiting him I talk to the students and I SWEAR I am the same age as them... :)

I missed this forum,,wish I had found it sooner.

I'm 46 and married to a wonderful man who is my rock and very supportive in all I do..I'm blessed. I'm a mother of 3 children and 3 stepchildren and also a grandmother of 4. I am a photographer and hope to be in front of a camera someday instead of always behind it. I've struggled with my weight my whole life but am very hopeful and confident that the sleeve will be a wonderful tool to help me finally succeed with my weightloss. I will begin a new life on 12/27/11.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
