Well, I broke down. After waffling, convincing myself I didn't need to have such precise information, and waffling some more, I just ordered the BB. With the sale + coupon code, it was just too good a deal to pass up. Even if I use it only short-term, to get an idea of what I burn with certain activities, it will be very useful information--worth the cost. (Especially since there are a couple of people in my family already clamoring to have it as a hand-me-down when I'm done with it!)

Leigha, is the food journaling aspect easy to use?

So-So they had the Eas shakes that I used but I had to add the Greek yogurt, I couldn't find a steak listing for filet so I had to use porterhouse but that isn't too different. I am going to have to move all my recipes from loseit which is a pain but I think I am going to have to really dial it in to lose the last 15.

The last 15! How exciting is that?!?!

I am torn. I guess I will give it a try, and if it's too much of a pain, I will do my food journaling on Fitday (where I have years worth of custom food entries) and use the bug to monitor calorie burn. I mostly need to know what's effective in terms of ramping up my exercise; I'm pretty controlled with regard to food.

Filet sounds really good--I am starving today!

Yaay, Betsy! I bet you're going to love it! I am sure the journaling aspect isn't too bad. Honestly, I love journaling on the Daily Plate, so I figure I would already be used to it. I am so excited to get mine! I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas!

30 more-- and I'm praying it will get me there.

I just had a bowl of mini wheats and now I'm wishing I had filet LOL

I'd pretty much kill for a filet right now. I'm eyeing the dog and trying to figure out just where it would be on his body....

RUN DOG RUN! I'm not thinking dog filet would be that good. Too tough.

On the BB website food journaling, the program suggests things that you have eaten in the past so that is helpful because I eat the Greek yogurt and EAS shakes daily and it helps not to have to look them up.

I am glad that I bought the BB because it has reaffirmed what I suspected. I am not exercising enough, apparently my body is very efficient and doesn't burn that many calories when I exercise. Yesterday I went for a run (OK its really a walk, run, walk, etc) for 40 min. and then plugged it in, (it has a predictor for the rest of the day) and I still wasn't even close to my 2150. So later in the day I also walked on the treadmill for 45 min. I finished the day at 2224 so I was 74 calories over. :) It takes a 40 min run/walk and another 45 min walk to reach my daily calorie burn! No wonder I haven't been losing more steadily, I was only exercising 3 days a week and not getting to my needed amount of burned calories!

So today I rode my bike (5 miles) and only burned 197! And I am only tracking for 1775 for the day! Crap, I am going to have to work harder!

ETA: The good news is the cord for my scientific calculator also fits the BB so I have a cord for work and a cord for home, now I can download this several times a day as well.

Leigha, I suspect the BB will "tell" me similar things. My metabolism sucks. I gain at a ridiculously low intake, even with exercise.

I am trying to figure out how to ramp it up. I think the BB will be really, really helpful as I do that.

I wonder: is the BB affected by environmental temps? I ask, because the yoga classes I want to start are done in a 90-degree environment. I guess I need to do some research!

I want to take the time to publicly declare my dislike for my new BB. Now that I know what it takes to actually burn 2150 calories a day I want to go back to saying "Its not me, I am exercising, I am just on a plateau." OK I admit it, I wasn't working hard enough.

To reach my burn rate today I had to ride my bike to work, back home, and a 2-hour, 3-store marathon to get groceries for tomorrow!

Can I please just go back to being ignorant?:)

You all are too funny, and, no, I'm not getting a BB because it's too advanced for me! More accurately, I'm too lazy! I'm working my way up to more exercise, very gingerly.

Happy Mother's Day!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
