Leigha-chickenberry smoothie not so good? That's hysterical!

I am still too tight, not too terribly tight, but daily eating is a chore. Things seemed to be going a little better mid-week then some horriblish things happened at work and I've essentially been an emotional wreck since and immediately the damn band cinched up tight again, hopefully will ease back again this week when things settle down. On the good side I lost just shy of 5 pounds this week which put me well over the 50 pound gone mark, so woohoo!

Hope you're all doing well and welcome newbies!

My daughter just told me she's doing C25k this summer---and I astounded myself by agreeing to do it with her. Not sure my body will like the runner's gait (ortho issues), but I'm willing to give it a try!

Jacki, your poem is awesome

I am going to officially declare my band fickle. I was worried about having a leak since my fill on 04/19 I have been hungry and could eat anything so I scheduled to go in and have it checked this Thursday but starting yesterday I am so tight it is taking me forever to eat. Yesterday morning I ate a Greek yogurt at 10, lunch (2oz of meat a couple of grilled bell pepper slivers and grilled onions) at 3pm and it took an hour to eat then 1 chicken wing with 3 zucchini strips at 8pm and I was full. Only 765 calories and didn't make my Protein goal (only 44.4)

Today a green smoothie, 1 chicken wing, 3 pieces of zucchini and I am still stuffed but somehow I am going to have to either drink a shake or eat a yogurt or I am going to miss my protein mark again.

I haven't had a stuck issue or done anything to irritate it so I give up on trying to predict what it is doing. And I am going to cancel the appointment to have my saline drawn out and measured. I am afraid it might get messed up so I am leaving well enough alone.

BobKat--Welcome!

Christie--Sorry to hear your band tightened up on you. I hope it's easing up now.

Betsy- that's so awesome! I bet you surprise yourself and you do better than you think :-) VERY cool that you're going to do the walk/run with your daughter :-)!

Leigha-- WOW! What a difference a week makes, eh? I'm glad your band is back to letting you know that it's there :-)

Me--I am still going on 5/20. Honestly, I was so ravenous today for lunch I had a Healthy Choice Steamers meal (10 ounces), waited after finishing it and was so hungry I felt sick, so I had to have a cheese stick. WTH? It's nuts! I ate Breakfast around 11 (wasn't hungry until then), but by 2:30 I was insanely hungry! Still hungry actually and I can't even have my Water yet! :-( So, that freaking 'big' lunch of almost 11 ounces isn't even lasting (and it was 26 g of protein!!!!)

I honestly don't know what to do, the scale is stuck! STUCK! I am playing with calories, eating 100g of Protein a day, 80-100 ounces of water a day and working out freaking 5 days a week and I net about 1100 calories per day. I have no idea what else to try. I haven't lost anything in a month and a half. I am sorry to sound like I'm constantly complaining and being negative, but I am knocking myself out trying to kick this plateau and nothing is working.

Welcome Bobkat!

Leigha--too funny chicken Soup smoothing--yuck! lol

Sawyer, Betsy B and Leigha--admire your bravery for C25k. I want to try, but get this, I feel like I am too overweight to begin now--I think I need to be way smaller--just not ready for my rear end to be running its own marathon trailing behind the rest of me--I admit I am not yet that comfortable with my body, however slimmer it is now!

LeeAnne--glad you are doing okay:thumbup:

Christy--congrats on the weight loss--the band is crazy because I can't ever remember in my whole life where eating is a problem?

Hope everyone is well and figuring this restriction thing out!

Shad, my orthopedist would blow a gasket if I told him I was thinking about running. They really prefer people to be closer to goal---the added stress from excess weight is hard on joints.

But I'm already walking for miles and miles each day---I have to shake something up!

Karen, plateaus are SO frustrating. Try to relax. You're doing all the right things--you just have to ride it out. Your body is just getting used to there being less of you, that's all. It will figure it out and let the weight come off again--truly.

Leigha, my band is fickle, too. It's tricky, having to listen so closely to it each day. But it does keep me on my toes. No such thing as complacency around these parts!

hi everyone. I haven't been on this thread in a while and here I am on page 53! It was great to catch up with everyone's stories the couch to 5K's - how cool, and of course the fickle bands. I definitely belong to the fickle band group. If it's any help, I've learned to adjust my food choice to my "band's mood". When I'm loose, I eat more dense food, like white meat chicken and crisp veggies; we all know what to eat when we're tight.

It was also great to see all the great weight loss progress! Love this thread!

Hello, all!

I've been a bit disgruntled because of family issues, bless their souls, but I shall survive.

See my Dr. tomorrow for a pre-op and to check the status of my insurance approval. I'm counting the days with a bit of dread to my 2 weeks of Optifast and Clear Liquids.

I think I've done a good job of preparing myself for my surgery, and for the likelihood of Bandster Hell. I've been eating like I'm banded for the past 2 months and walking mostly every day. Last Supper syndrome hasn't been an issue at all, which surprises me.

Anyhow, I'm rooting for all of you- thanks for preparing my way!

Welcome BobKat and Wayno!

Leigha-Chickenberry smoothies is something I won't be trying anytime soon! :blushing: With this last fill my band is also VERY fickle. As per one of my last posts I thought it was too tight...but now I realize it is only sometimes tight. Other days I could eat way more than I am supposed to and some days anything that isn't the consistancy of pudding won't stay down. Darn thing!

Karen-hope you bust through that plateau soon!

C25K people-I am trying soooo hard to do this, but I can't even do the first week!! I do the 5min warm-up walk then start with the alternating 1min jog and 1 1/2 min walk. When I am doing the jogging at first my calves burn (yes I stretch), but I recover during the walking. After about 10-15mins of this though I start to not recover during the walking and the pain (pulling and cramping almost like my muscles are too short) gets so bad that I have to stop because I can't even walk!!! Anyone else have this problem and if so does it get better???? I can just walk (3-3.5mph) with no problems, but when I add in that jog (4-4.2mph) wham-o theres the pain!

Anne-you'll do great!

Christie-sorry to hear that you are still tight..but yeah it prob is stress induced (I know that's what is up with mine) but CONGRATS on the 50lbs! I am inching up there too. In fact with this tight fickle band I may even make my mini goal of under 200lbs before my 5/15/10 vacation which 1 month ago I thought was gonna be impossible!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
