Hey everyone!

After receiving my "You're approved, let's schedule your surgery" call today I decided to join the site.

I'm excited to say I'm having my surgery 12/21 - Merry Christmas to me! :)

It will be a lil' hard to miss Christmas dinner and all the goodies but that will not compare to how amazing I'm going to feel after - and there's always next year lol - let's just hope my mom doesn't make german chocolate cake lol.

I'm on track (with the rest of you) to start my new year off right!

Here's to building friendships and posting goal pics next december!

I start my preo-op liquid diet tomorrow! I don't know what to expect but I'm up for the challenge.

As long as you try and keep positive thoughts happening, it makes it much easier.

It also helped me to imagine waking up without the band being placed if i cheated.

I only have 2 and a half more days of liquid diet!

Good Luck :)

I am really happy for u guys but really frustrated with my situation. I was told that my insurance approved me almost a month ago and I still dont know when my surgery date is.

I went thru TrueResults in Richardson (Dallas area). Because BCBS requires the facility be under "blue distinction", they are having me use a surgeon who is in Ft Worth. But he will be doing the surgery in Dallas at Baylor. But for pre op (if they ever call me) I have to go to them. A full hour away from me. I already went once and what a waste of time that was. I was told they were still waiting for all of my info from True Results.

This man was already busy with his own patients and now he has to make room for me.

If I would have known that they were going to send me to someone in Ft Worth, I would not have used True Results.

Sorry, just had to vent!

That's awesome Courtney you must be getting close to a surgery date then! I'm scheduled to start mine on Friday or Monday they gave me the choice. I'll probably go with Monday since I pushed the surgery back 3 days from the 18th to the 21st.

You can try calling BCBS directly and ask them to transfer your approval to another doctor. Or call the True Results corporate office (they're in Dallas I believe) and have them get to it.

I'm using True Results Scottsdale here in AZ and I had some hiccups that were quickly resolved. I had to call and stay on them, checking every couple on days on the process. They tried to add a month or two to my waiting time and told me my visits HAD to be exactly 30-31 days apart or I had to start all over again.. needless to say that didn't happen. If your office is anything like mine, the office staff aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the bunch, but if you push on them in a nice but stern way, they'll get it done.

kslessar - Just so you know... you're my hero. Seriously. I honestly don't think I could have done that (without help of some kind).

Did everyone see Electrwoman's blog entry from this am? I don't know exactly how to do this...but... here's the link: LAP-BAND

And here's the post (she's just fine :frown::

I'm very happy to say that I have my pre op visit tomorrow and am tentativley scheduled for 12/21. I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time. Don't know what to expect from the pre op diet, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I'm wishing all of you the best of luck in your journey.

My pre-op appt is tomorrow. I'm so nervous. I start my liquid diet then on Thursday. Well, it isn't a full liquid diet. I can have a few things. I can't believe it is getting so close.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
