  3. I'm very impressed with your successes. I've been banded since December 2009, and I'm down 56 pounds. I've been sick with the seasonal nasty cold for about 3 weeks. I'm feeling much better this week, but my stomach is really bothering me. I have what feels like lots of gas pain and some diarrhea and some hellacious heartburn which I have not had in the past. Sorry, if TMI, but I just wanted to get your take on what could be going on. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
  4. I feel like I'm not losing as much as I should. I'm exercising and eating less, but still only lose 4-5 lbs a month. I was losing more at first. In April I lost 10 pounds and in May I lost 12, now I'm lucky to lose 1 lb a week. Any advice?

In just 6 short days, I will have been banded for 6 months. I feel like December 18, 2009 was kind of a rebirth for me and a lease on a new life. If I had to do it over again...I would. I'm down 46 pounds. My goal is 50 by the 6 month mark. There's still time. I am ever so grateful to all of my lapband talk friends, especially the December Delights. I feel like I've always had your support and enjoy ever second I spend reading your blogs, and posts.
  6. Ladies, Are you suffering with extreme tightness during that time of the month? Yesterday I got stuck on some baked beans I chewed very good and the bite wasn't very big. It hurt like crazy and would not go down so it had to come back. Since then I have some real pain right around the small incision at the top. Today, I am very tight and still some pain, just wondering if I might have pulled something when it came back.
  7. Every month I have the same issue. I can keep things down, but I can eat very little. It's like the band tightens up around that time every month. I have asked the girls in my support group and none of them have this issue. I thought it was just me. Just know you are not alone with this one.
  8. Hello December Delights, It's been a while since I've posted, and I hope that you are all doing well and looking forward to warm weather. I most certainly am. I've had some success since my last post. I had previously been too tight, but that has been corrected and I've even had a fill since then. I went to a support group meeting at my doctors office earlier this month and felt a little disappointed about my weight loss compared to some of the others. There was one lady who had lost 78 lbs since her surgery in November. I have only dropped 25 since my surgery in December. I was thinking "Man, I must be doing something wrong". However, I have come to the conclusion that everyone is different and losing at my own pace is fine, as long as I get to my goal. It might take me a little longer, but I'm ok with that. I am down 8 pounds since my last fill, which was about 3 weeks ago (around the time of the support meeting). I've started setting a walking goal for myself each week, usually 25 miles and then I either hit the road or walk at home with the "walk away the pounds" DVD. I'm up to 5 miles a day and oh so excited about it. I also try to do zumba twice a week at the gym. I feel very motivated and will do what I have to do to reach my goals. It is very nice to have you guys to reach out to for support and I'd like to thank each of you who have responded when I really needed help. Hugs to all of you!!!
  9. Had my second fill today. Think I'm too tight. Can't keep anything down including my own saliva. Called the doc and the answering service is going to have him call me back. This really sucks right now.
  10. I've noticed in the past 2 months before my period, I am nauseous, have some serious bowel episodes and have a lot of pain on the left side of my abdomen. Anyone else having similar issues since being banded?
  11. Well, it's been 2 weeks since my first fill and now it feels like I never had one. The doc said he put 5cc in and I felt restricted the first week. Now, not so much at all. Today, I've been hungry all day since I'm on some sort of PMS rollercoaster, and although I've made healthier choices than I would have in the past, I feel like a bottomless pit. Just needing some encouragement, I guess. Hope all is going well for all of you.
  12. The fill was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I had myself all worked up over it. I got 5cc today and was able to drink the water they gave me before I left. I had some water since then and it must have been too much because it came right back up. I guess, I'm gonna have to learn how much I can eat/drink all over again. I'm on liquids for the rest of today, but can start back with regular stuff gradually tomorrow. I hope everything went ok for you!!! Let me know.
  13. Going for my first fill tomorrow morning. I'm very excited.
  14. Thanks and i think you might be right. I don't have a fever, but I feel like I would feel so much better if I could just throw up, but I can't. I tried last night and I had this huge burp that I didn't think it would ever end. No food or anything came up, though. I go back to work today, so we'll see how that goes. I'm gonna call the dr when I get to the office and see if what he has to say. Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it!!!
  15. Hi and I hope all my fellow December Bandsters are doing well. I am hoping that some of you can give me some advice or let me know your experiences. I have been feeling nauseous since I woke up this morning (nope I'm not pregnant...lol) and it is getting worse as the evening goes on. I have been suffering with gas and diarrhea since before my surgery, but I'm drinking a lot, so I don't think I'm dehydrated. Is this something that is considered normal or should I be worried? I have my first post op appointment on the 6th. I posted this in both the December Bandsters and here to make sure I got it in the right place. Are we just using this one now?
