Well.....today was my first day back at the gym. I'm hoping this will kick start my weight loss. Has any one else started the gym?

One thing for sure....I'm not giving up girls.

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for starting this thread over, the other one was way to long. I am joining you because I too feel that I am a slow loser, and I don't know when the last time I walked or exercised. I'm trying to convince myself to get my butt out there and at least walk. It doesn't help the fact that I have all the exercise equipment that I need to tone up & slim down but I lack a workout pal, working out alone is a bore to me. I need you to help me get motivated, since we are here to encourage each other I thought I would join in. When I logged in today it said I had last logged in Sept 2007 so maybe thats part of my problem, I need my lapband family so I guess it's my way of saying I'm back. We can all do it, as long as we are not gaining then we are doing good, we just need to continue to support one another and bring our ups and downs to the forum. I miss all of you and thank you for being my support team. We are all truly special because we have a gift (the band) We will make it work. I'm back for good.

I was just thinking that I need to get serious or I will never lose anymore. My band is working. It keeps me from eating large portions. I wish the bad food would get stuck. I do pretty well

for a few days then go nuts eating candy or something equally

as horrible. I need to change my thinking and remember why I

got the band. I got it to lose all the weight I wanted, and I can

do it, if I remember that when temptations are around.

Hi everyone.....I had a terrible day yesterday. I felt like all I did was eat. It was stress....old habits snuck right back up on me. I felt so sick last night after dinner it was ridiculous. Today, back on track. Ever since the flu I had, I am up a few pounds and it has gotten me depressed. I need to get back on track and damn it I am getting on the eliptical tonight!

Hi, I'm a slow loser, too! At over six weeks out, I still cannot get to even 20 pounds off!

I was a slow loser before being banded, so I'm not surprised about it. I'm older (56), female, not very active in my daily life (grown kids), no exercise right now, so it makes sense that I'll lose slow.

I don't have restriction now, so I just pretend I'm on another diet (hey it's January, I always dieted in January) and count my calories. Hope some restriction comes my way soon.

Just grateful at this point that scale hasn't gone up, it might be slow but it's going in the right direction.

We have to hang in and follow our band rules!

Ok girls.....Its my second day at the gym. My ass is so sore I'm surprised I don't have a fever from it. No pain no gain.

I am a slow loser but I am a slow loser because I keep a loose fill. I have found that bad food goes down easier when you are too tight. If you keep a looser fill you can eat the harder Protein and veggies. It may not be a solution to everyone, but numerous posts suggests it can help many. Doddie

This thread is the best thing that could have happened to me (besides getting banded). I always go to my doctors office an feel like I am the "slowest loser" patient he has! I was banded 9/5/07 and lost about 19lbs this is sloooooooooooooow.I felt real bad about it until this thread!! Thanks Guys!!

Hey Y'all! Well, thought I would join on here now. I am a slooooowww loser too. Even with a body bugg and exercising, my body is so freakin' stubborn; however, it confirms why I got the surgery in the first place.

In November, I went on 2 vacations and really thought I would lose weight..but no, not even 1 pound. In Scotland, I walked over 50 miles in 3 days and only ate about 1200-1400 calories/day. Then, I headed to Bora Bora, where I snorkled, walked and swam daily. NOT ONE LB LOST!

So, as you can tell by my ticker, I haven't lost much since August '07 and I think my restriction is fine. But, my Dr. wants me to come in next week anyways for a small fill.

I changed up my exercise routine last week and broke through the plateau. I lost over 5 lbs! I hope this continues! Looks like I have to really exercise to lose anything.

My friend got the lapband in July and has passed me up and never exercises. UGH!! I'm happy for her..just don't understand me. LOL

Good luck to y'all.

Christy, What did you do to change your exercise? I have been on a plateau too and I don't know how to get the scale moving again.

What did you do differently to drop another 5 lbs?

I got Leslie Sansone's walking DVD from QVC. One of the DVD's is an intense 4 mile walk. It's done the trick for me. I'm down another lb this morning. I guess my body needed a major shock. It really makes you sweat and I burn about 620 calories in one hour doing it. It's pretty amazing.

Great thread!! I was so fustrated about my slow weight lose, but this thread lets me know I'm not by myself. I have been banded for 4mths,11days and only lost 19lbs. I feel like it's just me and i'm never going to be skinny.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
