But I think it was a year to never again for alcohol 😂

Literally who comes up with these sorts of rules. We all know what happens. You have a glass of wine, think omg I ruined it, and blam why bother following any of the rules, then.

Ah but we get to the goal of long(er than you) lives, stress free and happy directly - bypassing the work stress. And what can be more efficient than that? I'll see you at the beach, mine's a mojito!

Edit: Skål! https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/oct/16/spain-to-beat-japan-2040-world-life-expectancy-league-table

Mojitos are good! I mean I heard they were good.

It’s all just a suggestion in the end. But for context, I literally saw a Bariatric alcoholic tackle 3 nurses trying to get away from the ER to drive home. That’s when I thought yeah maybe there’s a reason for that suggestion.

Yeah, that sucks. For that individual. I mean, in the end we all have to make up our own minds. I'm just saying the long-term statistics on American bariatric patients aren't impressive, to say the least. Maybe "eat 500 calories a day and NEVER touch alcohol" as directed by Becky The Dietitian From San Diego wasn't a sustainable long-term plan for the average patient. :D

Idk, I only focus on myself tbh but I’d hate to be the person not properly warned that a brand new alcohol addiction is possible.

Oh yeah, we're told to as well. And then to proceed as adults. I mean, it's just cultural differences. There's no right or wrong.

Despite cultural differences, for some people alcohol not being a part of their post op lifestyle is a good thing. Unfortunately there are not many indicators in who will have an issue so I understand the reason for the prohibition. But of course it will always be ultimately up to the individual. I promise I am not trying to be the party pooper.

... in America and other places :) We're actively encouraged to figure out our new tolerance in a safe environment, because it is assumed life will happen and with life, alcohol. Hence the cultural differences.

Where did I say that?

No, there's alcoholism. There's probably a lot less than what's usually assumed in America (sometimes, AA meetings aren't the solution to being a bad person/having a life that needs fixing), and a lot more than what's usually assumed in many parts of Europe (sometimes you're not fun, you're just a drunk).

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
