Looks like everyone is doing well, no matter how small the loss, it is a loss. Well done all.

Like everyone, isolation is harder when the kids have so much rubbish in the house to eat, but I have adpated to having smaller versions of what they eat, so we may have hot dogs, but I don't have a bun, I may have a corn wrap, and if they are having fries, I will have 3 or 4 and no more. Had a stall last week of -0.5lbs, but back to losing 3-3.5lbs a week every week as of today. So 83lbs down since the op, feeling strong, cycling loads, doing so much gardening and lifting etc, I feel great, my body looks so different and lets just say my wife is very very pleased, says it is like having a new man!!

Pic on the right was NYE 2019 (4 months ago in fancy dress Run DMC gear at an 80's party), the pic on the left is me today. So shirt off pics I am afraid, didn't do that.

The best thing I have ever done. As a big drinker before, I have not had a sip since NYE and I feel great. I will have another drink soon, but at the moment I am not bothered even though my wife is having a G&T or fruit cider most nights.

Just being a better me. Love it.

Stay safe all.

You look great, congrats on the loss.

I think I've hit my 3 month stall. I've lost less than 2 lbs over the past two weeks, but I'm feeling good and I know I'm eating well, so I'm not too stressed yet. We'll see if it continues.

Started a new job that requires I be fairly active so that's good, usually when I start getting in exercise my weight loss slows for a bit and then picks up after a few weeks (the just goes crazy with muscle building).

Glad to see everyone is holding in there and doing well!

I had a 3 week stall, finally broke through this week with a 3.2lb loss. Hang in there it will come!

I was so upset when I had a stall week, but knew I was doing what I need to do and it comes back.

My dietician has said that I need my 3 month B12 booster injection, but can't have it because of the current situation so I am taking double dose B12 pills, Calcium and Iron tablets as well as my Multivitamins to keep the balance up.

Keep going, you'll do great. I am sure you feel better!

Thanks! I'll keep motivated! That's a lot of b12! I'm taking just one b12 pill, then Iron, Calcium, multi Vitamin, Biotin, and Vitamin D. Sometimes taking all the supplements feels like a full-time job itself ha ha. Thanks again!

Weird question, but are you all still burping a lot after you eat? I'm trying to figure out if it's still normal, or if I should be concerned about acid reflux etc. Thanks!

I don’t after I eat. My surgery date was Jan 14. But I eat really slow and I do t eat much. I don’t have an appetite. I just take a bite and I’m like blah.

burping after drinking. I hiccup after eating - I usually stop before hiccup and it comes a few minutes after I stopped. But if I don't stop and think I can still have another bite or something, it just comes. Everyone in the house now says...You're done. Even the 9 year old.

That's so nice! I figure the isolation will give me a chance to lose a lot of weight and then surprise everyone when we finally get released.

That's a great idea with the clothing though, it must be so cool to see it coming off so quickly. I've lost a lot of weight thus far, but aside from some shirts fitting more loosely I'm still wearing the same clothes, ah well, I'll get there:) good luck with the continued loss!

With 40lbs gone, there is probably more of a difference that you realize. I had 2 sizes of smaller clothes in my shed. All of them are now sagging. Go to a store that you can return items and buy an inexpensive pair of pants a couple of sizes smaller. When you try them on, you will be amazed!!!! Return them if they are already too large. If too snug, keep them as your guide for measuring inches.

I'm finally starting to see some results and it's fun. I'm about 7lbs from Onederland. My new job is really helping me drop the pounds since I'm forced to be active a large portion of the day, and I can't think about eating the whole time (just a shake and Water during the 8.5 hours at work). I had to get khaki pants for the job, but couldn't find any women's, so I bought a pair of men's pants that fit amazingly (though already getting baggy) and I love love the deep pockets. Fortunately I have a couple goal pants in my closet, a small pair of women's khakis and a pair of jeans so I'll use those to show my brain what my body already knows. Thanks for the suggestion!

I wish I had kept a pair of my old size pants to compare with my new pants. I've gone from 48 inch waste to 36. I'm down from XXXLT tops to LT. In fact, my shoes are now too large. You can lose weight in your feet too.

Oh good point! Guess I'll hold onto my old "fat" pants for now so I can do a side my side comparison when I'm "tiny". I have noticed my toes getting skinnier ha ha!

My first Chinese since surgery. I won't even tell you how much Chinese I could eat before surgery cause it's embarrassing, but this is all I could manage tonight and I felt so satisfied! Loving my new tummy right now.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
