A. Have an objective support system?

 B. Think they eat too much although there is no evidence?

A. Yes. I’ve told enough coworkers that they provide cover while not totally blowing my spot.

B. Only when I pay attention. If I am trying to “eat right” I eat too much, because I am both instinctively eating AND trying to meet some sort of hypothetical nutrition goal. When I stop paying attention but eat what I think I want (no, not always cookies... but sometimes!) then I end the day thinking I actually ate a somewhat balanced and rational amount.

My restriction’s still pretty darn good. Last night at an event I had a gin and tonic, then two hours later I ate a tiny slider, a spring roll, a pig in a blanket, and a dumpling. And then I was done. Previously in the day I’d had a small thing of yogurt, coffee, and...wait, I think that was it. So obviously by the event I was pretty hungry.

But on days when I’m paying too much attention to “eating right” I just end up stuffed by the end of the day. So I’ll be doing less of that.

💘 I NEED TO TALK ABOUT MENSTRUAL CYCLE NONSENSE💘

trigger warning: menstruation discussion

My actual hunger and capacity is 3x greater in the luteul phase than at any other point in the month. I stay mostly on plan because i make almost everything i eat but, damn.

Then my body rewards me with weight gain and bloating. At the start of my actual cycle, i want nothing, can go forever again without getting hungry or without food, feel/look thinner, weight begins to recede again.

WTF... usually i can handle it but this month i am unhappy about the whole process.

I don't remember caring so much when i was heavy. I guess i never saw the profound changes so visibly.

I got nothing on this. :( I'm just so glad to be past that! ((hugs))

I think we become more insulin resistant at this time, and also our hunger hormones kick it up cuz of more insulin floating around?

I found that keeping very strict Keto during this time seriously used to help me with the hunger. But yeah...hungry hungry heifer days for sure! :( *sob*

Maybe you could look at adding things like chromium picolinate and cinnamon to your foods and see if that helps you? Also adding a couple tsp of unfiltered apple cider vinegar to Water, some fermented veggies and more protein/fat?

@GreenTealael Have you considered stopping your cycle altogether? Either through stacking oral bc, or a hormonal IUD, or depo (which I wouldn't recommend)?

Ahhh .... well I figured you had your reasons. If you ever do change your mind, I love my Mirena IUD. No cycle and no babies 🤣

I love my Mirena too! However, I do still have a lot of monthly PMS type symptoms and I still do have a period (I didn’t have a monthly period before surgery, but the mood and physical changes still showed up). It’s definitely less extreme but I’ve still got them!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
