I would love to make some surgery buddies now so we can go through all the pre-op requirements together and stick through surgery and beyond. Anyone else already know their surgery will occur this summer?

My surgery is going to fall in the July or August time frame. Most of this is dependent upon checking all my surgeon's boxes, the rest is dependent upon my financing since I'm self-pay. I'll be getting the sleeve.

I love my surgeon and feel really lucky to have found him. So far the pre-op stuff has gone smoothly, but I am just at the beginning stages. I've scheduled all my evals and classes and attended my first weight loss class last week. I found it to be mildly helpful. It was certainly geared more toward those that hadn't already read through the surgery binder and/or those that had no clue what healthy eating consisted of. I'm hoping future classes focus more on the post-op eating.

My first visit with my PCP about this surgery is next week as that's the soonest I could get in to see her. I'm hoping she'll be supportive as my surgeon knew of her when I told him that's who I see. But if I have to find another PCP so be it.

My first dietician appt is next week and psych eval is the week after that. I only have to get these three meetings out of the way to schedule my surgery. So I'm anxious to get that done!

I'm excited to hear from others along the same timeline as me!

So my process from seminar until my actual surgery date was September 18th to June 28th. Every program is so different. Not to mention insurance dictates how we follow it.

It did seem to go by very fast. I was happy for that, at least. I did feel that I learned a lot from the appointments as well.

That’s wonderful! I had to have a heart Sonagram yesterday and will have a follow up with the heart dr the end of June. Saw the Nutritionist on Tuesday which was my final nutrition visit! She released me for surgery. So did the Shrink!?. If everything goes well with the heart dr, I should be scheduled the end of July!! I’m so excited! Plus at my last nutrition visit, I lost 2 more lbs! 10 lbs since I started in April! I’m currently at 220 but my goal weight is 145! Good luck all of lucky people scheduled for June!??

Insurance definitely makes us jump through all of the hoops they can find. And I’m with you on the learning so much along the way. And I got to make awesome bonds here in the forums with all of you so that is another bonus ? And this time next year we will be fit and feeling amazing! ?

You know one of the things I learned from my yesterday seminar the new Bascobal (spelling?) nasal B12? If you have price insurance like UHC, BCBS or Aetna they will pay for your prescription, Medicare and straight Medicaid don't so I'm locked into monthly shot or sublingual. . Life revenues me for not having to jump through month after month hoops of this or that by denying me this. Even Tomkitten who has Caresource and isn't wanting this surgery would be paid for but I'm not.??????

I'll take sublingual, shots or pills over spraying crap in my nose any day of the week!

2 of my children were Spring/Summer so nice to bring them home in just a light blanket instead of the blankets, snowsuit etc in Ohio in Janurary and 15 degrees. And I was a day after Christmas baby, yes Boxing Day my Commonwealth cousins, all we get in the USA is Christmas returns, discounted Christmas cards and wrap for next year. And nobody wants to come to your birthday party that day! I have had less than one handful true birthday parties. I'm sorry if I sound cranky,but I'm 72 and unless I throw my,own. I don't get one. And if you do people look at you as though you are greedy and manipulative.
One year I was feeling so sad about the state of affairs I threw a birthday party for Jesus. Made a cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. I even had a couple boy friends break up with me in December so they wouldn't have to buy me gifts. One wanted to reconcile in Mid-January but,i saw through that. Told him if I wasn't good enough over the holidays don't come slinking back now! ???
