February 2018 Success Stories

Recommended Posts

This has been much more of a roller coaster than I anticipated. First week I felt great. Then I hit a wall energy wise. Then I was back to almost normal energy but hit a stall and didn't lose nearly as much weight as I wanted my first month. Now after having an Iron stomach the whole time, I've been persistently nauseous the last 2 days.

It's funny, I'm naturally a positive person, not a worrier, always assume the best. My easy initial recovery reinforced that. But now I realize this will be a much more challenging process than I thought it would be!

Hi All,

Hoping to join up with you as I'm a February sleever. :)

HW 257

SW 231.5 (Surgery date - 2/12/18)

CW 216.8

Has definitely been a roller coaster ride and I know there's more coming my way, but I stand by my decision to do this and have an opportunity to truly LIVE my life from here on out. Today was my first day back to work (took 4 weeks off) and it went well, but my tummy is sore from sitting upright fully clothed for eight hours. It's probably not appropriate to wear pajamas to work is it?

Hi there, I was sleeved on February 26 and I’ve only lost 10 pounds since then I’m wondering if I’m doing this right. I am currently on soft foods and don’t really meet my calorie intake at all, anybody have any suggestions or anything I could help me pass this stall I’m having? thank you

Hi! I was also sleeved 2/26, I just started purée phase yesterday! How are you on soft food phase already? How long did you do purée? I’m so confused with starting purée phase! Make sure you’re getting enough Water.< br>

Hi welcome! I go back tomorrow, plan on wearing loose fitting clothes and toms for a few weeks! Hope tomorrow is better day

Well my doctor said I could start soft foods however I am not tolerating them well at all so I do purée for the most part. I I don’t think I’m ready for apps off foods, how are you doing? Glad you contacted me it’s nice to know there’s somebody out there that Had surgery the same day as I did.

I’m just doing purée for now. Refried Beans, Soups. I’m not doing potatoes because I’m scared to fall into carbs again. I’ve been actually tolerating food well. Very slowly tho it takes me 45 min to complete a portion of 2-3 oz. good luck

I had surgery on the 3/1/18 and I'm still on full liquids for another week. I've lost 15 pounds since surgery. I'm barely able to get 300 calories a day and I'm struggling to get even 30 grams of Protein. My Water intake is about 24 oz. A day. I say if you're stalled, go back to what you know-protein shakes.< br>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
