Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Afternoon Gang

Well its almost a week since I seen Dr Chris and had .25ml added to my band and I have got restriction. I simply cannot eat anything in the morning. At lunchtime today I tried a cup a Soup and a crispbread - managed the crispbread and 2 spoonfuls of soup before it got stuck and eventually came back to haunt me.

Last night I tried to have some chicken - again no way it was going down. My only worry is what should I be eating???? I am starting to feel quite cold and tired and worried my body is not getting enough nutrition. I bought some Multi Vitamins but they are too bloody big and cant swallow them AARRGGHHH.

On the huge plus side I have lost 3 lbs since last Thursday so it is working and doing the job it is meant to do.

Garry sorry to hear your having yours removed after having gone through quite an ordeal - you were a huge inspiration to me and I wish you every success for the future.

SaraP - so sorry your having problems, did you remember to ask what size your band is? Have you got any restriction in last few days?

Hope everyone is doing well and take care

Kerry x

Hi kerry

Can you tell me is restriction diff from getting something stuck.Sometimes i get something stuck and it comes back up then i can finish the rest of what i was eating this does not happen a lot. Is restriction when u feel full after a small amount becouse i can eat for scotland.

Anyway at least i know its going to get sorted but since i posted last week im shocked about the amount of people who have mailed me with what looks like the same problem .

Glad your getting restriction u can get a disolving mult vit and min from boots and it tastes like o/j

think ive lost a few more pounds but not a lot though lol, felt ok after my fill but now cant eat anything at all, just wee sips of Water and getting a lot of throth wen im vomiting soz for the graphics but hope this settles down what do you think hun take care xx

That's good that you have lost, are you measuring? I find the inch loss phenomenal and can't quite believe that some weeks it can be just o.5 inch bit other weeks up to 5 inches. Definately worth measuring as it gives you a real boost.

I have found that a few days after the fill I get even more restriction; it's as if the body is fighting the band? Does this make sense ...

Around these days I can have the frothy feeling but it's periodic. I try to just not eat or drink at this time as I find it makes it worse!

On a positive note it does ease off and eventually I am able to eat a little more. Last night I managed to drink something properly and it was great not to have it pooling. I have tried to eat Soup but it's just not playing ball so I have had a little tuna with mayo & sweetcorn (about 3 teaspoons) and I tried a cuppa soup which sort of played ball!

I am sure everything will settle down and start to behave itself and you will lose what you want.

With regards to the final stone or 14 pounds I think this will be the hard part to lose and I am trying to work out what my body is up to. I am back on the nutritional shakes to ensure I am getting my vits and mins and I have lots of energy which is great.

Do hope it all settles for you. Quite worrying when there are others on here having probs which I do hope they soon get resolved so that they can move forwards in their journeys.

Take care, off to teach parentcraft and yoga.

Wahoo can't quite get over this but another 2 lbs down and 0.5 inch so sitting at 95 lb loss and 76 inches. Wow that's a real feel good factor.

So 11.5 lbs to go and then a huge celebration! In a size 12 trouser and hopefully will settle at a 10/12 - would be really happy with this.

Those that have had their band for a while did you maintain your weight or did it fluctuate a little here and there. Did you manage this with nutritional shakes or fills? Obviously when I reach target I don't want to really lose anymore but does it just stop?

Having the oddest week in terms of food; usually my staple is Soup (as it has been since October last year - I know boring but that was all that I could consume) but this week it just hasn't wanted to stay almost as if it's too thick and causes sliming etc (sorry for the TMI). I have been able to manage crackerbreads with soft cheese smeared over the top and more liquids than before which is a bonus. Anyway off to teach baby massage and spend some quality time with my mummies and their little bundles of fun.

Have a good day and stay positive and focused.

Hi slinky,

It was lovely to meet you, you look fantastic.I am doing ok but so restricted, tolerate only fluids and Soups. Tried solids couple of times and got badly stuck with panic attacks. one time the food was stuck for at least 2hours I really panicked... settled eventually but I am so affraid to eat anything solid in case if it gets stuck again.I dont feel hunger at all, but when my hands start to shake I realize that its time for some sugar.I tried some 'soft'solids but got stuck again.I feel fine, still normal levels of energy, dont feel any weaker, keep walking regularly, drink my Protein Shakes once a day.most defenately I will not need any more fills for quite some time.I will have to start eat some solids soon, to keep my energy levels.

It was nice to meet you and have a chat, you really look so well, please do me a favour and change that photograph because you look so different with your new hairstyle,so much better.

Talk to you soon.

Hello All

So I went and had my 2.5ml defill on Thursday, to take me back down to just 5mls ready for hols and to get some nutrients and Vitamins back in ready to start Fertility treatment hopefully.

Chris Deprez was delighted with my loss to that point but said I should not have left it that long of being able to hardly eat and being so sick and sliming all the time.

However, I now have absolutely no restriction at all, and whilst I haven't gone mad on the food front, just being able to actually eat and drink and keep it down, I have been feeling rotten since Thursday with huge bloated gurgling gas filled tummy, have been going to toilet 3 or 4 times a day, which is a shock in itself after only going once every week and a half to fortnightly for the last 6 months. (Sorry TMI)

Thursday night I couldn't sleep as was doubled over with trapped wind that Rennies, windeez and motilium would'nt shift, and I am burping for England just like the early days, but more guttingly the scales have gone up 6lbs!!!

I have lost my comfort blanket of the band, and having the sickness which I know sounds wrong but it does keep in you check, and I think I have made a mistake having the defill.

Hoping that some of you that have had defills for holidays may be able to reassure me that this is just my body adjusting to food again and will settle, as I am so uncomfortable and I defo can't afford to start piling on the lbs especially with the Fertility appointment coming up which we had only just got after finally shifting the weight.

I know I need to try very hard on my own and make the right food choices but as we know I couldnt do this on my own before which is why I had the band! feeling a bit glum and teary this morning (I'm hormonal as well which doesnt help) but I'd got used to waking up in the morning and feeling sticky out ribs and hip bones and completely dipped in belly before leaping delightedly on the scales but this morning I feel like a little rounded barrell and want to smash the scales.

Sorry for rant

I know exactelly how your feeling but dont beat yourself up, a lot of the weight gain would have been Fluid to rebalance your dehydration, and thats why your pooing more and getting ride of your toxins. I can only have a max of 4.5ml in band on a permanant basis and put 1 stone on when my fill levels had to be reduced. however it does rebalance the important thing is now not to over eat (easier said than done) and to re educate potion sizes again easier said than done I dont know how your financially situated but I found diet chef where everything is precounted and delivered to you door around £5 a day ish helps to guide you on what is a normal level and the food is band friendly

The worst thing you can do is do nothing and worry, take control, and help your band, your going to renourish your body for an important event and afterwards you can always have your band refilled in the future enjoy yourself, nurture your self and the very best of luck with the next faze of your life love mmm xxx,

Oh and forget to mention that i have just joined a website called Nutracheck and in my first 7 days have lost 6 1/2 pounds. They take your stats, give you an online food diary, and tell you how many calories for the day. It's so easy and you make friends on there, get recipes and i love it. It is so motivational and the way i'm going, the site has my target weight obtained by September. Try it if you're like me and need new inspiration x

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
