Thanks! I'm up about 8 lbs but I'm getting ready to start Keto (my husband finally agreed to do it with me!) so it should come back off pretty quickly. Plus I kicked the Coke (the brown liquid, not the white powder LOL) habit I let sneak in on me. Back to my Water.

i have done a lot of study and self-experimentation with ketogenic diets going back 8 years.

i highly, HIGHLY suggest you not start any sort of keto dieting.

just kick the liquid calories. also realize that a bit of rebound pounds is normal.

I've been studying keto a lot too and discussed it with my doctor. I'm not going to do true keto. I did very low carb, moderate Protein for a long time. I lost 132 lbs, reversed my diabetes and sleep apnea and got my labs to normal. The only thing I'm going to do differently this time is increase my fat intake a bit. Nothing substantial (definitely not LCHF) and the fats I'm going to add are good ones like coconut, avocado, some olive and I'm adding in more fatty fish like tuna and salmon. I want to keep my Omega 3/6/9 ratios in balance. And like I said, my doctor is on board. I stopped the fad diets a long time ago.

@JohnnyCakes Keto is just another fad diet. There are so many fad diets and all have one common denominator: they all fail long term. I am determined to do one thing and that is track what I am eating for the rest of my life, like taking the Vitamins. Hell, I even made index cards to remind me to eat slow, chew 20x, liquids 30 minutes after eating, etc.

How was the skin situation? I’m just curious because I’m nervous about that

I started working out regularly last July. I was losing weight, prior to then, pretty quickly, but it was leaving my skin very loose and flabby. Now, after a little more than 7 months of working out 6 days a week, I've been able to fill the lose skin with muscle, it's made a drastic impact on the flabbiness. My stomach and legs have the most lose skin, but it's not terrible, everything seems to be shrinking, slowly but surely. All in all, I'd say lifting weights and building muscle has reversed the skin issue.

Just curious- how is the skin situation after losing that much weight? I’m nervous about that

Well i have to say its not as bad as i tought its more evident in the arms, to help with loose skin ive been having ultrasound and massages in my stomach so its not really baggy, and on top of that i wear a bodyshaper to keep everything tight.

I'm actually going to a wedding photo shoot location and having some profile pics done, casual shots. Then visit the same location next year.

My surgery date is Tuesday, so no results.

I am an amateur/hobbyists photographer. Thinking about making this a business. That is doing photoshoots of pre-surgey people in the local popular spots. Then followup shots.

I know very well fat people don't like their pics taken, neither do i. But, having gone through the surgery, I might be able to make a connection to clients and provide a brief and inexpensive photo shoot that can be replicated by me or other photographers in the future

Did you pose the second picture? I just had someone do some portraits of myself as a local spot. In intend to do that same poses again someday.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
