Post-op day 2 and regretting

Recommended Posts

A month out and I still feel like crap even though I lost 35 pounds, pain still, can't keep anything down even though I'm following diet, my surgeon keeps saying its normal.. Even though I vomit everyday even from Water

As I read this I thought I wrote it, until I read the last line then I knew it wasn't me cuz I don't do that thank god! But I'm having crap issues too ????

I don't know my surgeon is always rushing me through my appointment so nothing gets helped he just says keep trying u can go to next stage, I'm like I can't get past stage 1, I'm scared because someone told me if surgery goes wrong people usually die within 90 days of the surgery

Thank you for all the support. It means so much.

Does anyone just take plain old Tylenol this early out? (Now post op day 3)? I hate the hydrocodone liquid I was prescribed. 20mLs per dose!!! Makes me nauseated. Plus, narcotics slow your bowels and I am on a mission to get rid of this gas and distention.

@@Ashley1213 - Tylenol is fine but be careful if u r trying pill form. Generally no tablets unless crushed (different doctors say different things ). Meanwhile, you don't have to take a full dose if the hydro cod one. I think my dose was only 7.5mls so try a smaller dose and see if that helps.

Hang in there. It does get better.

@Ashley1213. Yes to Tylenol! The liquid Vicodin has it in it too. Get off that as soon as possible.

My sister and I were sleeved Tuesday, and felt similar. The pain and discomfort was a lot to deal with the first couple of days. Each day it gets better and better. It's Sunday, and it's been our best day yet. Just hang in there; it'll get better.

I had that feeling when I woke up from surgery, lololol!! The first thought in my head after the nurse woke me up was "what did I just do." It was a tough couple of days, but each day after was remarkably better than the day before. Yes, it gets better. And yes, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

As for the Tylenol, I had my husband get me some children's Tylenol when I was immediately postop. Turns out I never used it.

I am 2 days out and also feel lousy. The gas pain has been pretty bad, but is subsiding today. I have been having continuous stomach muscle spasms, which are very painful. I'm hoping these go away soon. This is definitely much harder than I thought it would be, but I have hope that it will improve soon. Hang in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
