Going through my insurance required six month supervised diet. Very anxious for time to pass to get my surgery. I finish in May, so am optimistically looking at June for surgery. Anyone else around my stage? Isn't the wait killing you????

. I have been reading these posts for 2 weeks and still can't figure out how to start my own topic, so I will use this "June" Sleevers to ask my questions and get the June Sleevers to give me some vision. So... I have been to one appointment which was the introduction, then medical evaluation. At this 1st appointment, March 25, they already knew that I had coverage and told me what my cost would be. They scheduled me for a follow up which will be my psych, nutritionist, blood work, etc and my second weight loss appt. My 3rd visit is my final weight loss visit and my pre-op visit. I am still doing some of the requirements ie; cardiologist, Endoscopy, chest xray, etc. Then my surgery will be 3-4 weeks after. My insurance had to have a 3 year history of obesity, which my PC doctor has now provided. And I qualify for that. I read @@Seahawkgirl that you had 6 months to get to be a June Sleever, but I have only had 1 month so far. I wonder if this is going to fast?

Tonight I went out to dinner with my grown kids and husband. I sat there thinking about what I will be doing after the sleeve. Probably 1 lettuce wrap, that would be it. Tonight I drank 4 glasses of iced tea, ate 2 lettuce wraps, a cup if wonton Soup, and ate 1/2 of a portion of sweet and sour chicken and rice. What will I do while everyone else eats and we were there 2 hours.

Sorry, so many question. But thank you for the help!

Good After Noon June Sleevers! I got my surgery date, I am officially scheduled for May 12th! I'm super excited and nervous at that same time. Officially put in for my time off at work.

I'm so nervous!! I have my fifth appointment next week, and my sixth and final doctor supervised weight loss appointment next month. I hope by the time everything is said and done, I'm a June sleever, and not a July sleever! I wish they would make my sixth appointment my pre-op appt. so that way I could get the ball rolling to get this done!

@@butterfly56 I am jealous about how fast you are moving! I took care of my psych and all those other things the first month of my supervised diet and now I am just waiting. If you are not sure about the surgery though, I can see how you would feel it is going very quickly.

As far as eating out...I am ready for interaction with my friends and family to not be focused on food. I think I will be able to happily nibble my way through dinners, etc. just focusing on the conversation. It's going to be a change for sure. I've already stopped drinking and eating at the same time. It was weird but now I am used to it.

Can I ask how long you have been thinking about the surgery? How much research and reading have you done?

@@mclorrie yay!!! We are getting there!!

@@Debiann813 - I am so jealous! Congrats

@@butterfly56 - I think it is a normal part of the process to have doubts. You are human :). If you read my blog you can see I started my journey in 2012, got scared of loosing food and stopped the process to try again without surgery. Well I did try and have lost and gained. During that time my husband suffered an injury that left him non weight bearing. My weight made it hard for me to hekp him when he needed me most. I also realized thst if I had suffered thst same injury, I did not have the strength or mobility he had to move himself into the wheelchair. He is well now praise God, but the experience made me take a fresh look at what is important. Food has been too important for too long for me.

Just give yourself the time to think it through until you come to the point you know if it is right for you.

You ultimately make the if and when. Good luck and ((hugs))

I completed all my requirements the end of March, met my surgeon April 9 and told my surgery date would be May 28. I was so bummed, 7 weeks of waiting. I have been going crazy. I honestly think I could write a book with all the research I have done in the last 6 months and now I was being told I needed to wait almost 2 more months. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Every day has been a battle of making sure I have been doing everything and to be told I have 7 more weeks of walking on egg shells. Luckily for me I did not have to lose any pre surgery weight, but it is just as hard maintaining my weight, especially knowing that I cannot gain any weight. Four months ago I went up two pounds and was reminded of the program's no weight gain policy, it didn't matter that I was just 3months smoke free, where many individuals that quit smoking gain 20 plus pounds within the first 6 months.

With this extra time I have been trying to keep busy, I have all my Vitamins, Protein Powder, stuff for the hospital... Now if I could only make the weeks fly by. I teach middle school and course this is Spring vacation so I have a week off and the forecast is rain all week so I cannot even go outside and enjoy a good walk. I know I need to not be so impatient, up it is so hard, I have never wanted anything as much as I want this. Sometimes I wonder if I have my hopes for this too high and once it happens it will be a big let down.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
