Saturday and warming up here. The ice is almost gone from parking lots. Yippee. We need to do a little shopping for some storage/organization totes. I am in the mood to pare down! Today I will get my Vitamins and minerals in. Water in and green tea! Hot choc. with Peanut Butter for Breakfast. Lentil Soup for lunch and dinner may be OUT so life is moving forward. I have a cooking addiction. LOL I did bake banana cupcakes for church hospitality room tomorrow. Not anything I can eat. Gluten free here so it is good!

Well ladies been have some issues trying to reply on this thread but I am going to try again. I had some coffee with cream, Splenda 1 tsp of sugar for Breakfast. I woke up extremely late and had to rush to job #1. I have already had 72oz of Water in for the day and I don't get off job #2 for another hour. On my way to job #2 I had beef Jerky and cheese and then a few toasted coconut chips. For lunch/dinner I had grilled chicken with broccoli a little ranch and some A1. I did have a 44oz iced tea with a little sugar but mostly Splenda and 2 cups of hot green tea today. I really don't have time to exercise but I make sure I get at least 11,000 steps in a day.

Well after three days of eating almost nothing due to my surgery, I've lost a whole pound and a half. Hey I'll take it. Going out for brunch with my bestie today for her birthday followed by watching old movies at her house. I'm still sore and tired, so we're taking it easy. I slept on and off Saturday after no sleep Friday which left me with a Migraine. Today I feel better.

Absolutely love this running post! Will start a 5 day pouch test tomorrow after essentially 2+ years of giving up after being banded in February of 2010. I have moved from the Houston area so I will need to find a new doc for fills and now my new insurance doesn't cover anything bariatric. I am 44 years old, 5'10, 260 and need to lose 60 pounds. Here we go!

Took a sick day today because I was in too much pain to return to work after my minor surgery Friday. Took my pain pills, slept some, read a book, let my mom cook me lunch, walked my dog. Had a doctor appointment with my PCP whom I haven't seen since June. "Hi there, Skinny!" Made my day. My cholesterol is normal without meds. Yay! He was very happy with my weight loss progress.

It was easy to stay on my food plan today. 1060 calories. Some good stuff in the fridge for the coming week too. Two kinds of chicken and a pot of chili.

I'm feeling better and will return to work tomorrow. Back to the stairs for exercise.

I woke up extra early today and went and ran/walked 2.75 miles before work and came in the house and had 30oz Water. Went to job #1 and had 3T mashed potatoes because I was tight and then had 3oz chicken breast with A1 and 1/4c steamed broccoli later. Same thing for lunch and dinner was a bagel thin, boca burger patty, reduced fat pepperjack cheese Helmand lowfat mayo(15cal/1T) and mustard.. I did have 1/2 a bag of the jalapeño cheddar chex mix chips (100 cal). I ran another mile on my lunch at job #2 and have had 4 cups of cranberry pomegranate green tea with a 1/2 tbsp of honey and 1 Splenda in each. Coming in at 92oz of Water so far.

My favorite Protein shakes are Sprouts vanilla whey Protein and designer whey gourmet chocolate.

I've been able to stay at or below 1400 calories every day this week. And I'm up to 14 flights of stairs at work. Woot woot!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
