Dini, you baby is adorable. And you other half ain't bad either! You really don't look much overweight, you hot italian irish girl. Hope you baby wins.

Quinn, how exciting! I can't wait until I get a date.

Marcy, I read all the time, also. What do you like to read? I imagine out in the wilds reading is common. I love mysteries, romance, espionage. My fav authors are Janet Evanovich, J D Robb, Rachel Gibson, Patricial Cornwall, Robert Parker to name a few. I read anything.

Lynette, hope you are feeling much better

BreadLady, welcome back. Please share all. I am glad you weren't hungry.

I spoke with the insurance company today. They said they received the paperwork June 12 and it can take up to 15 working days. So I should have some answer to approval or not by July 3. Thats ok since I will be taking my HORSE pills (antibiotics) til July 9 and cannot have surgery until after that. Hopefully I will hear soon.

Talking about heat, here it gets in the upper 90s and low 100s but the humidity is like in the 90s. Some days you get damp just walking outside. Thank the Lord for air conditioning...

later...

Sunny - I have an eclectic ear as well as an eclectic ear. When I re-started reading last year I read some usual book-club fare, then I read Call of the Wild...man, you can really tell the difference between writers "back then" and more modern writers. I swear that little book took longer to read than some of my 500 pagers! There were so many words I had to look up! I mean, London writes so elequently that I couldn't even figure out the meanings of words by the content, I really did have to look them up! And I'm a college graduate! I recently read "Eat, Pray, Love" by ? Gilbert. It was FANTASTIC! This is totally me! I swear, if I was all alone, this is what I'd do! I HIGHLY recommend it! I just finished The Virgin Blue by Tracy Chevalier and I picked up her Girl With a Pearl Earring at the library today. It was hard to read because of the French (I took three years of German, not that you'd be able to tell now), but the story was interesting...did take a bit to get into it though. I need to find a book club here!

Sunny, windy, and cold....GREAT! That means there's no mosquitoes...although it does make going to the beach a bummer because of all the sand blowing.

Breadlady, You made it!!! You're on the BANDWAGON!!!!!!!

YIPEE for you. Hope everything went well. Looking so forward to not feling hungry anymore.

Dini, we didn't mean to steal your heart, but since we did, we're not giving it back. You'll be a Lucky 7 FOREVER. I have to go look at your pics in a little bit.

Welcome Quinn and any other newbies. I tried to keep up but there was 2 more pages since I posted last night. How great is that.

FYI, I probably won't be on much the next 3 days. Lots going on. I'm captain for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walk in my county. It's tomorrow from 7pm to 7am Saturday morning. Then I have inventory at work on Sunday and Monday. Busy, Busy, Busy. Just didn't want you to think I fell in somewhere.

So have a great weekend all. Dini, I'll definitely make it on to give you my best wishes on surgery for Tuesday so don't worry about that. Wouldn't miss it for the world.:):):)

:update:

Well. First day home. I got home around 8:30-9:00 last night. I had to sleep on the couch as getting up from a lying down position was painful. It feels like someone beat me up (in the stomach area). Tonight it's much better.

Someone asked if they kicked me out of the hospital. No. They were very good.

As far as walking I was up the night of surgery walking. Not tons but I would do a lap around the circular floor I was on then I'd go to the bathroom then rest and start the cicle over again.

I must say the worst part of the night in the hospital was I had to pee constantly. And I also happen to have a prolapsed bladder sos it doesn't always want to come out all at once. That is why I would go to the bathroom walk go to the bathroom again then rest.

Lots of gas pains today but I think that is good. I went outside and walked around the circle I live on. Granted it was only 5 houses but still not bad!! :)

Ok - today I am hungry. Wicked hungry! I am having a hard time because all the foods I had at home (my mother brought some stuff while I was in the hospital) is sugar-free. My body does not like any kind of artificial sweetener so I had a hard time "eating". Finally my husband went out and got me regular popsicles and regular jell-o. No problems now.

I am not sure where my port is. I think I may be able to feel it but not sure. When they did the Upper GI yesterday I saw it though.

Can't think of anything else right now. If anyone wants to do the chat room later PM me. I will keep my laptop open and logged on to LapBandTalk.

:) Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers. I truly appreciate them all.

I can't wait til we are all done and can chat about our progress.

BreadLady I'm so jealous! By the time I get banded on the 25th of July you will be well on your way! I hope you bounce back from the surgery quickly.

Dini, thank you for the welcome. I think it is going to be such a big help talking to people who are going through the same things you are at the same time. Who else really understands?

Quinn, welcome aboard. I'm a newbie that has been lurking for awhile too.

Marcy, I'm glad it sounds like there are a lot of other people around you that have had WLS also. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the cold. I was raised in Montana, way too cold for me in the winter. lol

IndioGirl, if you get a chance, the next time you update the calendar would you mind adding me onto the 25th please? I can't believe how many of us there are on it already!

I went to see my second opinion surgeon today so all is done for the insurance but the waiting....sigh

I thought I would be able to stay up late but I am zonked.

I'll check in tomorrow.

BTW - I may have not been hungry in hospital but I have been starving all day today. It feels like no matter what I eat the hunger doesn't go away. Now granted I am not eating mcuh of substance (broth, jell-o, Protein shake). Oh well, I hope I am less hungry tomorrow.

Good night all.:notagree

Good evening, ya'll!

Breadlady, we are sooo glad that you're home and doing well! That's right, keep it moving. That's what they say works well and that's what I plan to do when it's my turn. Get some good rest and take care of yourself. Hope to talk to ya tomorrow.

Nelli, we're gonna be banded on the same day! Woohoo! I was feeling kinda lonely at the end of the month.

Lynette, I wish you the best during this weekend. It's awesome what you're doing for the ACS. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and my sister is a colon cancer survivor. Eventually, I would love to run in one of the breast cancer marathons! :)

Dini, loved your pics, especially the babies. They are so cute. I loooovvve babies. Don't have any of my own, yet, though. :) Don't have a husband, yet, so when that happens, then the kids will come, too. (The lack of a significant other is a whole other thread!)

All, I had an appt today w/my primary doc. It went well. My surgeon just wanted me to get medical clearance from him, so this appt was painless. B/W now and the 25th, I believe I have 6 more appts, including my nutrition classes. I'm sure this will help the time fly by fast.

Also, this may be TMI, but I'm gonna share it anyhow. LOL. Well, I have manipulated my cycle so that I will not be on it during my surgery. I wear the patch (Ortho-Evra) and if I continued to follow my current schedule, Aunt Flo would've showed up around surgery time. :angry No way. So...I did what I had to do and I will be Aunt Flo-free come the week of surgery. YAY! :D

I just ordered my Medic Alert Bracelet. I got it from Lauren's Hope - Lauren's Hope - Medical ID Bracelets, Medical ID Watches, Mothers Bracelets, and 14k Gold Bracelets

At first, I didn't think I needed one, but I will feel so much better knowing that I have it on. This is what I had engraved on it:

Name

Gastric Band Patient

No Blind NG Tube

No NSAIDs

Just s'thing else you may want to think about. There's a thread out there somewhere about this.

I never even thought about an ID Bracelet. Maybe I better look into that.

:hungry: Wow, these have been the longest four days of my life. My surgeon has me on a 700 calorie diet to lose 15 pounds. I'm currently sucking on a teaspoon with a dab of Peanut Butter on it because the hunger is really getting to me.

I'm two weeks away from surgery; hope my will power holds out!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
