Hey lovely ladies!

Peek- I love your energy on here! You push us where the push is needed!

Chell- I'm so happy the egg worked out for you. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me yet because it felt like it was stuck in my throat until it came up and out.

oatmeal has been my saving grace yall. I've been eating instant because I'm terrified of the whole oats now.

Glad to see everyone who has surgery adjusting to the changes. Everyday gets better!

@@Kpar909956 wow that is strict! I was able to have egg drop Soup in my 2nd stage which started on day 4. I'm now on day 16 and I'm on seafood (no shrimp or lobster), mushy veggies and eggs.

@@Peekboo depends on what broth you put with it. I use a broth I get from this Chinese restaurant and it's beef based and then you get it to boil, drop in the egg, let it cook for a minute or two and voila!

Rmspencer, sounds interesting ! I will have to try it. My favorite Soup is hot ans sour soup. I think I can eat it but its so sodium rich.

@@Peekboo omg they totally are, but when you're only eating 4oz..... I actually don't feel like they make me retain more Water than other things. Which I have to say, I am not peeing nearly enough for how much Water I'm consuming. It's so weird.

Peekboo, watch it on the hot and sour. I love it but when I tried my favorite from the local Chinese restaurant--just the broth mind you-- I got so sock with gas I lost half a day. I'm leaving that one alone for a few weeks.

@@KarenF1972 If it persist , then you might want to talk to your doctor. Otherwise maybe just chalk it up to natural healing. We did just put our bodies through a lot.

I just posted on our other page also. (We have too many pages! lol) Had my follow up today and the surgeon wasn't concerned about the side pain. Said the muscles were split, may have had some tearing when stomach was pulled out and if it's not constant pain, they weren't really worried! Thanks for the reply!!!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
