Feeling guilty for living in Florida...

Got to scratch off something on my bucket list. I am training in Sarasota for a new job and have always wanted to run on a beach. This was my view during my mile run!

We shared a grilled snapper basket with mango salsa, at lunch today at a place called Safe Harbor in Mayport, FL, a quaint fishing village near Jacksonville Beach. The Intracoastal Waterway was our view, along with shrimp boats and pelicans. It was a nice 65 degrees, eating outside on the deck. Even if you cannot be in Florida with us, maybe we can give you a view in your mind of why we love Florida. Florida seafood is awesome! Best wishes everyone!

We really like Singleton's, it's near a wonderful state ran park, Hannah Park. Perfectly clean beaches, and cheap camp sites. It's close to our hometown since we are also in North Florida. We live in the west burbs of Jacksonville. My surgeon is in Jacksonville, as is the hospital that he works in. I'm loving the weather now, and can't wait for summer. And Gman, I agree that Universal is amazing. We can't wait for the new Harry Potter area to open in June! We are 2 1/2 hours from Universal, 3 hours from Disney, and only 2 1/2 hours from Cape Canaveral for cruising. We can do the last minute deals with no problem. I was born here, but spent 17 years in Chicago. Every year I swore I was going to move back South, and finally due to medical issues with my daughter (now 12) we moved back just over 2 years ago. I love being back close to family, but more then that being back with my piggies in the sand.

I visited Siesta Key even before we moved to Florida. The whitest sand possible. Doesn't burn your feet even in intense sun.

Speaking of intense sun. That white sand is like a mirror. I got a horrendous burn there. Don't underestimate, folks. :(

It finally made it up to 32 degrees here in Michigan today. It was almost balmy, lol. My son lives in Minneola north of Orlando, and just built a new house. I hope he added a Mom and Dad addition for us for the winter. As soon as our house sells, we are moving to Florida!! It can't come soon enough!! I told my husband, this is our last year doing the shoveling of the driveway! I love the 4 seasons but I think I can learn to not miss them. I wanna be a snow bird!!

Katie Jo you would never regret it. Just move within 50 miles of the ocean somewhere LOL. This thread, thanks to Gman, has fit right in with our health, happiness and new lifestyle. Life is short, keep finding humor and fun in whatever you do, and thank God for so many blessings.

I totally agree! And with the sun shinning it makes it even worse because you know its going to snow again before we are done. Mother Nature is playing a mean trick on us in Michigan!

81 degrees North Florida today, and all week. I am finally warming up. I swear you all should retire to Florida.

It was so nice, and I had to run my car air conditioning! We have had the front door open and the lanai door open to get cross air. No house ac yet! Love "winter" in Florida!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
