How Much Had You Lost At 7 Weeks Out?

Recommended Posts

My surgery was 10/2 and to date I have lost 28lbs. The first 15 came off in the first two weeks after surgery and it's been slow going since then. I'm fine with being a slow loser but just starting to get scared I won't lose anymore. I have lost about 2 lbs in the last two weeks.

Surgery weight was 255.

I am 8 weeks out and I am EXACTLY like you. 28lbs.

I have also stalled for 4 weeks. It's starting to move now, but it is sloooooooow going.

I think this is a very common phenomenon for us women - and I think men, too. Hang in there, honey :)

I have lost 33 pounds since surgery 7 weeks ago. Been slow lately. Not sure if it's because I lost 25 pounds in pre op. I started at 410 pre op and now I'm 352. I'm bummed I had a goal set for Thanksgiving at 340. I'm not going to make it.

Seven weeks out, I was worried because I had "only" lost 25 lbs since the day of surgery on May 9th. I have now lost 60 lbs and have 20 more to go to reach my goal of having a BMI of 24 and be in the "normal weight" range. If I count the weight lost on the pre-surgery diet the week or so before, I have lost 70 lbs in less than 7 months. Like you, I was afraid I would be a slow loser, but my weight loss has actually been very good and I an ever so happy with the results. At the beginning we're so impatient, but then as we start to enjoy our new bodies, we relax a bit and stop obsessing about our weight, but the weight keeps falling off. Please don't worry, you will make it to your goal!

Thanks for the response. I keep telling myself that in a couple more months I will look back and will see my progress more clearly. I tend to get so hung up on the daily weight ins, tracking etc.

At 7 weeks I had lost the exact amt Ive lost in the last 4 mths - 22 lbs. I started lower (174. Band revision) so I knew Id lose slower but it's getting ridiculous. I know I could lose faster (been stalled for 2 mths) if I counted everything that went into my mouth but Ive prided myself on losing almost 100 lbs eating whatever I want - just much, much less of them. Counting seems so much dieting to me and thats why I got wls in the 1st place...

So I'm the one that breaks the curve for everyone else....22 lbs to goal of 130 seems like a huge task now. Now I know what my skinnyg friends used to b**** about when they complained they had to lose "20 lbs". I used to roll my eyes (at 250, I had MUCH more than 20 lbs to lose) Now I know how hard those last 20 r...

At 7 weeks I lost 42 pounds. However, everyone is different both with the rate at which they lose and also their starting point. If you start higher you tend to lose a little bit more quickly at first. It tends to be a lot more helpful and less discouraging if you look at your % of excess weight lost. So at 7 weeks, I had lost 33% of my excess weight.

On November 24th, I will officially be 8-weeks post-op and in stage 4. As of the 19th, I was down 102 pounds. Initially I thought this was good, however now I'm thinking I may have dropped some muscle weight.

I will be 6 weeks out on Tues, Nov 25, and here are my stats:

Preop: 286 (4/2013)

Surgery weight: 256 (10/15/2013)

Today: 227

So nearly 60 in 7 months and nearly 30 in the past 6 weeks since surgery. I have 60 more to go.

I have no idea whether I'm losing slowly or quickly. I just know I'm sticking to 800 cals, 64 oz, 80 g Protein, and working out 1-1.5 hours per day, every day. I'm just keepin on keepin on!!

May I ask what procedure have you had done?

Sure! I had the Gastric Sleeve. I also had a number of minor post-op complications (low blood pressure, gas, low kidney function and nausea).

Pre-op: 468 (6/2013)

Day of Surgery: 464 (9/24/2013)

Post-op: 362 (9/21/2013)

I think I may have lost muscle weight in the process.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
