I was wondering about this dragon breath I've had for the past few days (I'm on day 4 of the pre-op diet). So far I haven't smelled anything on my body, but sometimes you can't smell yourself with any accuracy.

From what I read ketosis causes bad breath also. Unfortunately!!!

I'll take it!!!! :-)

I'm down about 3 pounds since I started my pre-op.

Listerine and Colgate are my friends!

I'll say it again- I am so relieved it's not just me! If (temporarily) smelling bad is the price for losing weight, I'll take it!!!

Shoot. I have noticed a new and unpleasant odor in my bedroom in the morning. I was secretly blaming it on my husband. Now I am concerned it is from me! Does anyone else remember the funky smell lasting until ~3 months post surgery.

BTW, I have also noticed the stinky pee. I was blaming it on my Vitamins. I don't believe I am in ketosis. I remember what that was like from my previous efforts at following the Atkins Diet.

I'm 10 weeks post op and having the same problem. At first I thought I had super enhanced smelling abilities after the surgery, but noooooooo. I'm just stankin' more than usual. It has made me super self conscious, eventhough I brush my teeth and shower multiple times a day. I keep waiting for it to go away, but not sure how long this lasts.

On top of me smelling bad, I think I have "super enhanced smelling abilities" too! I smell everything so much more now post-op! Like, the pet store, ewwwwwe!

I am so sorry you are going through this but, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've become so standoffish that I suspect some will accuse me of "changing" after the surgey. When the truth of the matter is, I don't want to offend anyone with this b.o.

Oh just read online about something called Nullo. It's some sort of tablet/ internal deodorizer(?). I'm giving this product the side eye until I can do some research on it, but wanted to pass the info along

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
