Hey guys... Sorry I haven't updated you all. So I an officially on the losers bench' date=' but not without complications.. :/ my surgery went swimmingly and I seemed to be recovering great. Yesterday morning I woke up feeling and looking wonderful. Well, all of a sudden, around 2, I got REALLY sick. I threw up a bunch of dark liquid. They rushed me down for some tests cause they were worried that my bowel was blocked or pinched off. They came back normal and I'm now feeling ok, but that set me back a day so I'm still lot drinking yet or taking oral meds... I will start that today after they do one more test to make sure my bowel is working. Please pray. All I want is to go home. I'm so uncomfortable here and miss my home. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

Sending prayers! Stay positive, you'll be home soon!! Your on the home stretch!! Good luck :-)

My sweet hubby went to the local CVS and found me some liquid tylenol. It tastes yucky!

Yucky is the understatement of the year!! Ewwwww that stuff is awful!! And I made the mistake of tossing back both tablespoons at the same time. I immediately got nauseous. I had to go lay down to get over it. I might just still to the liquid Vicodin.

Can you mix it with your Water? I know some liquid vitamins allow that.

I think you probably could mix it in with water. I just sipped it just like everything else. Today it wasn't quite as bad. I don't have liquid vicodin. I have a small oxycodone pill.

Well it's Friday 4 days out from surgery and I guess I'm feeling ok. Struggling to get my fluids in and rarely getting in Protein. I feel uncomfortably full all the time. I'm taking advice and sipping slowly from my little one oz cups and just trying to keep hydrated. I can't even fathom eating food anytime soon. No real pain though so that's a bonus.

I had bypass Monday. Had to be there at 715, went for surgery at 1120. Slept good and didn't feel a thing until...I woke up and my pain pump was still sitting in a chair. I spent all night awake to make sure I could push button every 10 minutes. It was terrible and even though I told everyone this wasn't right, my blood pressure was through the roof and I was sweating like crazy, it took until 9 the next morning to get some pain medicine because the after surgery nurse let my anesethia wear off before getting me on pump. Nightmare. Now I'm home day two and have no pain but nausea is keeping me down.

Wow! Why would she wait. I woke up with the button in my hand. I was pushing away until I became nauseated. They gave me zofran to stop it. Just had a bad case if nausea. I think it was the Protein Shake plus gas. Not a good feeling.

That's awful! I'm sorry you had to go through all those hours of pain because of her neglect or whatever she wants to call it. I would definitely report that to her supervisor or your surgeon if you haven't already. And I'm glad you're feeling better now that you're home.

I'm so proud of everyone who is in the loser bench. I hope you all have speedy recoveries. Today I went for my last group appointment to get prescriptions and such. So excited now. Only thing that's between me and the surgery is 14 days, pre administration appt at the hospital! Can't wait for the 20th.

Hi all. I just had a very good conversation with myself (I'm not crazy  ) and with God, and I must say that all my nerves and anxiety about this surgery and lifestyle change are GONE! I feel so much at peace with everything that I know I'm doing the right thing. I'm not going to worry about this, that or the third. Things will happen the way they're meant to happen, whether I worry or not. I guess I'm saying all that to say this - I pray that each of us get to that place of peace with this process. Some of you were there way ahead of me, and I imagine there are some that are still trying to get there. But I do attribute a lot of this ease to the amount of support and comradery that I get from this forum. So thank you all, and God bless.

Where's wannabeawifey??? I pray all is well.

I was wondering the same thing.... I know I just didn't feel like doing much of anything after surgery. I'm just now getting to where I have the strength to read the posts and comment. This drain pump is so uncomfortable.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
