Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

I am having the same urges as I drive past my favorite places to eat, or see those darn food commercials on TV that trigger an urge for the bad stuff. lol!

I seem to have pretty good energy. I've been walking with my daughter the last few nights and I feel fine.

So how do you FEEL when you drive by those places or see those commercials? And does that feeling last? Are you experienciing any kind of regrets? Every once in a while I do, but they are fleeting. I remind myself that I will be eating my favorite foods again soon...it's ok....just be patient.

How's ur soreness?

Hi Terridoodle........I love cheese enchiladas and before my first fill, we went to my favorite mexican place. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas with queso on top and guacamole. I was only able to eat 1 enchilada and a little guacamole. Brought the rest home for next day. That was mushie stage 2.

I know it probably wasn't a "diety" choice, but diets got me in this shape in the first place. Now, I'm happy to eat small amounts...yea!!!

KAt817 - Thank you for writing your heart out. It was the best explanation I have read so far and spurs me on to really want the surgery Monday.

I appreciate your sharing.

Good luck tomorrow banders

I'm officially getting nervous now.. I think I'd be happy if they'd dope me up as soon as I walk in. I don't want to sit around waiting and having an anxiety attack.

I will be thinking of you when I am getting ready for my surgery! I will be home tomorrow night if the snow doesn't force us to get a hotel. I live about 50-55 miles from the hospital that the surgery is going to be at but we are due in for a big storm. You are in my prayers!

Dear All,

Firstly congratulations Michelle!! That is WONDERFUL NEWS I am SO pleased for you, what an up and down week youve had!!

Pam, you have done SO well losing 19lbs, gosh, thats incredable!! Ive only lost 14 lbs to date, Im hoping next week to shift another 2 lbs....

Sorry I havent posted for a while :phanvan

Well, I think I told you ages ago I was trying to write this document (up to 115 pages of it now) yesterday was awful. I got SO stressed, which triggered me to eat more, and sins of sins I kind of tried to binge as I was so stressed. Things is what I did....:embarassed:

1. Ate a handful of dry roasted nuts that dave had left on the table

2. 2 handful of M&M chocholate sweets sophie left lying around

3. Ate a handful of mini square cheese biscuts

4. Had 150mls of red wine!!!!!!

5. smoked double the amount of cigarettes I normally do

Normally I would have devored the whole bags of these things, but I couldnt, I ate them so quickly when I swallowed them, it felt like I was swallowing golf balls, and I had to suddenly swallow Fluid to try and ease it down.

Oh man :think ....... Im not going to do it again, but when I get high stress levels what shall I do??? HELP me here guys, Im going to face these levels more and more once I go back into reality of my work world. Maybe I need to buy stress beads or something?

Im going to start exercise next week, I go see my Dr on Tuesday for my tablets to give up smoking, so Im hoping the exercise will destress me??

I have experienced feeling hungry Terry and Shine on, and I did eat more (small portions though, like an extra mullar low fat rice dessert) Im goning to have to really watch what I eat soon I think. But I now know, that stress is my MAJOR trigger

GOOD LUCK to all of you today geting Banded, our prayers are with you xxxxxxx

Sorry for the moan guys,

Love Sara xx

Sara: What to do instead of stress eating is one of my big concerns for once I am banded. What to do? In those situations, food is exactly like a drug... the chewing, the volume, the anesthetic quality as it smooths out the rough edges... exercise is one that many suggest instead... but in the past I have found it unrealistic that I can simply go out for a 15 min walk in the middle of helping kids w/homework/answering the phone/cooking dinner/getting ready to get to an appointment all at the same time! What other ideas does our group of merry banders suggest?? Logging on for a few minutes? Music?

Prayers and best wishes to everyone having their surgeries today and Monday. To all of us Monday Bandsters.....have a great weekend and try not to worry too much! I know I am nervous and plan to stay busy cleaning the house and getting everything in order since I probably wont feel like doing much for a few days after surgery.

Michelle, I am also worried about what to do besides eat when I am stressed.....it is so easy to cram things into my mouth. My DH has suggested that we have sex every time that I want to overeat....isn't that just like a man? lol

Getting banded April 17th....wondering if I could join you April bandsters

Shawnna

Welcome Shawnna!!! You've come to a good place here with lots and lots of information. Just remember that each of us is unique and the only constant in all of this is that we have all taken that step we feel will be the tool that helps us lose the weight forever. We need to be faithful to that tool and do our best in the days and years ahead.

There.. end of sermon!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
