Dorrie, remember that life is for living - you are at a good weight now and don't let that hinder any opportunity for you to go and have fun and experience life! Say you go and eat junk food - so what?! You know that once the 5:2 kicks in it will come off again... please don't be hard on yourself my friend... enjoy your life; it is good and you deserve some fun...

I gotta be honest, I think I would go and 'fill my boots!' x

Hahaha - a bacon buttie is a bacon sandwiche; fried egg is optional but always good. Red or brown sauce also included... I go for the brown. In the old days I could eat this like they were going out of fashion... now I struggle but enjoy what I can get in and I don't do it often but when I do - yummy! Yea, mixing things up might work... over the weekend I will give it a go and perhaps add in a good snack or two.

Okay, what we call a BLT. Bacon, lettuce, tomatoe sandwich. What's brown and red sauce? ketchup is red. :)

Just read this on an article Twin British Doctors did. Low fat versus low sugar diet. Of course, the low sugar, low low carb versus the low fat high carb won. Both lost weight but low carb low sugar lost 9 pounds in a month.

Susan Jebb, professor of diet and population health at the University of Oxford, agreed with their conclusion.

“Processed foods pack calories in and are unbelievably attractive and delicious,” she told the Daily Express. “They are temptations for all of us and it is astonishing that any of us stay slim.” ####. HOW TRUE!

yes, Georgia red sauce is ketchup or Tomato sauce... brown sauce is well, brown... not sure how to describe the taste - quite tangy... Cathy help me out here! We have BLT too but the bacon butty just bacon or bacon and egg... delish!

I watched the documentary on those twins... I found it a bit confusing to be honest. I will have to watch it again when I feel more alert! Interesting though

arrggg.... no more bacon talk...LOL.. I smell it every damn morning!!!

bacon is more crack like than even crackers are! While I realize it is very low carb, bacon is actually a horrible food nutritionally, all nitrites and fat pretty much.

Damn I am not having a good day.

Aw, Sheryl... consider the bacon talk over!!

I made wizza tonight and it really went down a storm. Not sure if you lot have seen/heard about it but it hits the pizza spot nicely. It is basically a wrap for the pizza base, then you just add what ever you want for toppings (cheese would be measured for a fast day), grill and you have a yummy wizza! I couldn't finish mine but it didn't go to waste ... even the boy enjoyed it and he has an aversion to 'diet' food...lol!

Ooh, that sounds good! When you say grill, do you mean like a George foreman or something or in the oven broiler type? Yu umm!

no, not a george foreman type thing...lol... just a normal grill, the same way as you would grill toast. Oooo forgot to say, I also did some stuffed mushrooms; cleaned off some flat mushrooms, but a teaspoon of cream cheese (philly with garlic and herbs) on top, added some thin ham, a little grated cheese and baked for 20 mins - they were delish too. With a bit of salad they would make a good fast day dinner too!

Look at me cooking, with fresh ingredients... 6 months ago I wouldn't of done any of this... this is all down to the 5:2 opening my eyes (further) to good food and how to cook it! Georgia, I need to thank you for more than one thing here...lol xx

Sheryl, when is the ex leaving? I hope soon! If he really is going to live in his car then why can't he go tonight and take his bacon with him? Hang in there.

Sue, glad you are feeling better. Will you be able to go back to work next week?

Dorrie, go and have fun. Enjoy.

Denise, this is so exciting about Bill...please share more. Us, married ladies love to hear all these stories! Brings back memories...

So, I am doing this weight loss challenge thing with the girls that I do boot camp with. We have a month and whoever loses the largest percentage of weight will win 5 free sessions with my trainer. We also each put in $5, so whoever wins will get the money, too. Not sure how much is in there. It's been going on for a few weeks. Next week is week 4. I have to get weighed on February 10th. I am trying hard to hunker down to win this thing. I am starving!!!! I eating my normal amounts but I want junk so bad. Sugar, sweets, donuts, cookies...you get the picture. I haven't had anything this week, I'm hoping I can get through the weekend. The bad thing is I have PMS and this is the time of month that I usually indulge in some junk. I wish sugar didn't taste so good! I wish it made me sick! When I was looking into surgery one of the surgeons I met with told me that if you have gastric bypass you can't eat sweets because it will make you sick. Not sure if that's true or not, maybe I should have gone that route???? lol

Wanda, I wanted to say that I agree about the 10 pound thing and not putting a time limit on it. I didn't put time limits on my weight loss. When I lost it, I lost it. I had surgery in Mexico and my surgeon didn't even talk about a goal weight or anything. I would come on here and read about people losing all this weight in 6 months and I tried not to let it get to me.

Wanda+working out(Curves)=BrownDoesAll! You really are doing all now because you are taking care of yourself!

He is supposed to be out by the end of january... that is today, right? Truth of the matter is that this has been in the works for AGES and he hasn't packed a single box, consolidated his stuff, he hasn't done ANYTHING toward the plan. It doesn't do me any any harm that he is here except I never move on. I never get to just get it behind me I never get to get used to living alone and figuring shit out all by myself. I am never really truly free to start my new life.

So what he does today instead is volunteers to go get hay for me. I feel so overwhelmed i am starting to shut down. I am supposed to see Steven tonight but don't even feel like it. I am not wound up... just feel like i want to hibernate or something. Steven will understand - God knows he has cancelled on me enough times.

This apathy will pass but it sucks right now.

And I need to find a stupid cocktail dress for a stupid cocktail party - very important work related awards night. I usually love that kind of thing but right now i don't even know what a cocktail dress looks like. Well, they are all black, right?

oh, and I had my surgery here locally at a center of excellence and they refused to set a goal weight for me. They are smart - they talked alot about high BMI people not getting too crazy with goals since too many times people lose 100# and feel like a failure. Their point is losing 100# is a crapload even if you are still "overweight". They focus more on getting to the point of reducing health co-morbidities etc. Most of us that were super obese have lost massive weight before (I lost 85#on weight watchers for example) and they know how that rodeo usually goes....

So, who cares what a surgeon's goals are anyway. Think in terms of continous improvement of health. This isn't a temporary deal with an end - this is a lifetime of living and eating a different way.

I like that the center you went to does that. That's the way it should be.

When I started looking into surgery I went to meet with a surgeon here and the first thing the nurse talked to me about was a goal weight. That turned me off. She wanted me to give her a number. I was like, I don't know, I'm here to learn about surgery not set a goal weight. She wouldn't leave the room until I gave her a number. Ridiculous!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
