I've been in denial for a long time about my protein intake. I don't eat meat and, at most, get 40 grams a day. I have a bunch of protein powder hidden in the back of the pantry, I can not stand the taste/smell. Here is the routine for when I actually bring myself to drink it: I have to hold my nose through the entire process, including when I open the tub to get a scoop out, put it in a shaker cup with 4 ounces of milk (the less I have to choke down, the better). Then I have to chug it down quickly. Then rinse my mouth out and pop in a peppermint, swish it around all surfaces of my mouth, including my lips. After another minute or 2, then, and only then, will I allow myself to breathe through my nose. But wait, I'm not done, now I need a strong stick of gum to chew for awhile because I will burp in a few minutes and it will taste like the nasty protein shake I just tried so hard to avoid tasting in the first place. There has got to be a better way! Let me say this: I have tried (and love) the clear Isopure protein drinks. The problem is I can not afford them at this point and need to use what I already own which is, unfortunately, chocolate and vanilla powders. Please let me know if you have found an easier way...
