FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

I guess I should consider myself lucky, as I can drink an 11oz protien shake in one sitting (during the span of 20 mins). I am also able to eat a cup of non-fat yogurt in the same amount of time. Between yougurt and shakes, I sip on Water. I no longer suffer from gas pain, though I can still feel it. Im making sure to get in as much walking as possible. Tomorrow is one week post-op. Looking forward to eating real food.< /p>

I don't puree my eggs. I add feta and they are sorry enough. Today i broiled talapia and sauteed kale, spinach, peppers, onions and lemon juice and white cooking wine. I put the veggies in the ninja and put them atop the fish....it was so yummy. Eat very small bites.....

Ok. In my own room and already feeling pretty Dang good!

Surgery was a like 10am' date=' was only in 30-40 minutes. I had some lain when I woke up, but they hit me with Dilaudid and I have no pain at all now....other than GAS! OMG!

I've never wished for a 'toot' as much as I have these last few hours!!!! I'm walking two laps around the entire floor I'm on every hour...still nothing. They just gave me a Gas-X melt strip...we'll see if that helps.

What worked for you????[/quote']

Just keep walking, that worked for me..(:

You could also do mashed or boiled potato. Season with herbs, garlic, etc. I also tried low salt lean deli meat.... chopped really finely and ate with eggs.< /p>

Isn't scrambled egg whites enough??? I mean that alone is pretty soft and tiny

Yes that is why I have tried them without pureeing them and it was fine. I just dont like them any more period lol!

I had my 2 week post op appt and my NUT said you are blending everything right? I said yes but if the foos is mushy enough I am not! I'm passed this stage lol. Tonight I am having parmesan crusted cod. I refuse to blend that! I will be taking small small bites and chewing until mush.

I am very careful what I'm eating as I do not want to hurt my new tummy

DivaNurse and Susan, I'm so sorry to hear about all you've been going through. I pray that things just continue to get better from here.

Thank God DivaNurse that you made it out ok. I will continue to pray for your speedy recovery.

One of our biggest fears are leaks or some unforeseen medical emergency.

Continue to keep us posted on your progress. It's so hard being the patient when we are so accustomed to being the caregiver.

People on the forums kept saying how they threw up eggs. I really hope I don't have that expierience as I'm limited to foods as is especially since I don't like cooked veggies or fish!! I'm so excited to try food tomorrow and I just keep praying it agrees with me

So tomorrow I am FINALLY able to start mushy foods! Sooo excited! I've been on nothing but liquids for four weeks now and I am going insane!!!!! I'm going to try an start with an egg white omelette as I've been craving one for weeks(so sad that THIS is exciting to me now). I was wondering if anyone has any other good ideas for mushy foods. I'm a really super picky eater so any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I just ate cheese! Yum! Going to have a scrambled egg for dinner! Never thought I would appreciate chewing so much!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
