Bradley Schwack, M.D.
Dr. Bradley Schwack, Assistant Professor of Surgery NYU School of Medicine, is a bariatric and weight loss surgeon located in New York, NY and affiliated with New York University. Dr. Schwack attended Cornell University where he studied both the biological sciences and French literature. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with honors from Cornell, he attended Tulane University where he obtained a Masters of Science in pharmacology. He remained in New Orleans at Tulane University School of Medicine to complete his medical education where he began to gain interest in the practice and study of surgery. Dr. Schwack completed his residency in general surgery at New York University Medical School (New York University Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center). It was during his time at NYU that he developed an interest in laparoscopic surgery and the study of Bariatrics. After completing his residency, Dr. Schwack moved to Louisville, Kentucky to finish an advanced laparoscopic surgery fellowship with Dr. Jeff Allen of the University of Louisville. The fellowship involved intensive training in all forms of minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, including a large volume of primary and revision bariatric surgery, long term follow of bariatric surgery patients, and laparoscopic general surgery. Dr. Schwack is a board certified general surgeon who performs all kinds of laparoscopic general surgery with a concentration in bariatric surgery. Dr. Schwack has presented both nationally and internationally related to the fields of laparoscopic general surgery and bariatric surgery and he has been published extensively on these topics. Dr. Schwack is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic surgery, and a fellow the American College of Surgeons.
