Five things no one every told me how to deal with

1. I would have to buy all new clothes including underwear and shoes - twice. Had to get a loan to buy the winter items.

2. People would not recognize me; they sometimes think I am ill.

3. People expecially men would treat me differently - I never knew how to react to an actual flirt.

4. I now care about what I wear each day - I wonder if Lane Bryant and the Avenue miss me?

5. The small things like moving the car seat closer to the steering wheel, crossing my legs with ease, walking up and down stairs without panicing, cutting my hair very very short because I now have a jawline and cheek bones, keeping up with my friends when walking, feeling my hip bones when I lay down, and smiling all the time because I feel so good.

What are your surprise issues?

Not having to push the table away to fit my body in when I'm out to eat. Being able to wrap a regular size towel around me... and having some left over! Wearing a SIZE SMALL!!!! And all the things you've mentioned as well.

Well that sounds fantastic! I can't wait.

Very same as you! Gone broke twice buying new clothes, and now my second round of new pants are pinned to keep them up! Crazy good!

Yep, all of them, except it's King Size Direct catalogs instead of Lane Bryant :)

And also slipping into restaurant booths - in fact I sometimes CAN'T use them because they sit too far BACK and I can't reach the table comfortably.

The floor also gets higher, at least that's what I feel like when I bend down to pick up something, used to have to kind of hold on to something and work my way down - now I just bend down and back up.

i don't have to look like a slob and can tuck my shorts in - and they STAY in and don't pull out when I sit.

Oh Carol-Thank you for your post-I so needed you today! My biggest suprise is putting away the laundry and seeing these tiny panties, thinking they are my daughters, and they are not-they are MINE! my size 10 levi's FIT, and not tightly, and feeling bones I was not sure I even owned any more! Thank you for making me smile and allowing me to be thankful for the little things :-)

All of the above mentioned and my husband being able to wrap his arms around me almost twice, my hubby being able to pick me up and carry me around ( I was so scared he would drop me the first time he did it)! :D able to wear an XS, sit on the toliet and not cover the whole seat!! LMBO TMI I know!! Being able to run a 10K.

I felt the same about the panties at first, now I wear a smaller size than my daughter. :)

@janerose & kyllfalcon...I didn't go broke getting two or three new wardrobes because I shopped at Goodwill and second hand shops. If you take the time you can find some really great things in those places...new to you!! :) It makes things so much cheaper! Just an FYI in case you need to shop yet again.

Janerose- thanks for the post....

The rapid weight loss, everyone wants to know my secret ;)

Having to buy new clothes on a monthly basis. At this rate I'm going to have to get a second job to keep up (lol)

That i would be able to run & play with my grandchildren, without running out of breath, so soon...I love it!!!

And, finally, how soon I would feel like a new person....co morbidities gone!!!

I love these posts!! Keep them going!

Catching my husband watching me from afar & seeing his pride that the hot chick in the room is going home with HIM!

My surgery in not for about 2 months and I will be moving in the mean time so I'm going threw all my clothes I have so many and all differnt sizses down to a 14 pants and med and small top I'm going to box them by size so I can just grab a box of the right size and have a new wadrobe that I have wanted to get back into.this should save me alot of money (that I have spent already over the last 5 years when I lost weight....Then when I get below 14-16 I can spend all the money I have saved to buy those small ctothes that I have always looked at and couldn't fit into...Cant wait to see something I like and just beable to buy not have to go find something simular in the laides department...

Yeah, I'm still waiting for this one to happen...

I am an equestrian, I had no idea that the reason I had my stirrups so short before was because of how fat my thighs were. My legs have grown in length, when riding, and I feel more like a normal rider!

No one told me that at my current size - still 15-20# away from goal - many people would consider me pretty good looking....hahaha... it is great! Perfection not required.... progress toward better is my new mindset!

Being able to go for a run with my 14 year old son and seeing the looks of "How cool is that" from the people who drive by. The pride I hear in my boy's voices when they tell people how much weight I lost and how I am now a 'hot mama'! The appreciation in my husband eyes and the fact he can now carry me anywhere, anytime! Wearing clothes that fit, shopping the clearance rack because there are a lot of small size clothes there, being in control of my food choices, finding my voice to say no to people, having the seat at the movies swallow me whole...oh the list goes on and on! I HAVE MY LIFE BACK and I even have a life I never imagined.
