  1. oh boy-You ladies are not the only ones! I am buzzing out in hormone land too. The surgery and menopause are NOT a great combination! :-) I become a crazy hormonal b-word at the drop of a hat, or word, or look, or having to get out of bed, or..... and then it is ON from there. My husband's advice? Just make sure you are worth more alive than dead and all will be well. My advice..find a good naturepath. They can help wonderfully where hormones are concerned. And above all, HANG IN THERE! You are not alone and I do believe that this, too, will pass :-)
  2. hang in there. This is very normal and you will go through several bouts of this over the course of your weight loss. Love yourself and be kind to yourself through each phase. Sleep does help and you do need sleep. That may be part of your problem now-you are reacting to the surgery and need to sleep.
  3. Congratulations! THat is fabulous! Do not be afraid to shoot for lower once you meet this goal. It is about how you feel and how you think you look. Shop, girl! New lacy panties and a nice bra. You'll get good use from them and you will know that you are wearing fabulous sweet nothings...great for a new skinny girl's ego! Way to go!

  8. I think we all worry about it-but it is the doing that ends the worrying. You are doing so enjoy the ride. It is reinvent yourself time :-) !
  9. I laughted so hard! Not at you of course, but with you! The dryer was not my issue, though. Mine was cutting out the tags so no one would see the sizes, including me :-) No my biggest surprse is taking those size 10 jeans out of the dryer and not believing how SMALL they are and always wondering how I am going to fit my fat belly into them. And I fit! that always amazes me...from a 20 to a 10 in 6 months. I still have 37 pounds to go and I am wondering what is below a 10? I have never seen that! thank you for making me laugh. I really needed that.
  10. Ms. Goldy-- you are not a failure, only have not had the right tools to help you be healthy! "Diets" do not work because they are not a permanent thing. The surgery is permanent. You CAN blow it, but you can not go back to the place you were without hurting yourself. You should have the help of a crack nutritionist to guide you along the way and if you stay active on the boards, you have support. In your local area there should be support groups too. And we all LEARN to find our own health. You are not a failure, dear. Just have not found the right tools for you yet. See the positive.
  11. I am so sorry that yours was not easy and that you are still struggling. You and your family are in my prayers. Your God has not forsaken you-just testing. Remember that you will never be given more than you can handle. I know that when I am down, I really can't see the end point, but have hope. You are not alone out there and there are alot of us willing to help you any way we can. I don't know where you live, but I can sure help with cards if that would help you. Please, please, don't give up. Remember how much your family loves you and supports you in your journey to better health...and your child looks forward to romping with a thin, healthy mom. It may not be quite as soon as we hoped, but it will happen. Blessings to you

  13. Aren't we all. I, too, have no motivation and do not get a thrill out of exercising. I can think of 10 million things I'd rather do than exercise-getting a root canal included. :-( I work 2 jobs...high school science teacher by day and college science prof by night. The LAST thing I want to do is take that precios half hour between points A and B and exercise. So I hear you and join my little voice to your rant. I would welcome any ideas or suggestions or tips or hints on equipment that a not so fat, lazy and busy girl like me could use. :-)
  14. Keep your eye on the prize! When you feel the urge to eat, drink a glass of water and remember why you have chosen this path. The eye on the prize, friend. Eye on the prize!
