I had surgery 1-16. As of the past few days I'm finally able to get up and down on my own. But I wouldn't be able to without my abdominal binder. My belly button has finally shown its face today lol. My stomach was so swollen it was hidden. I have one incision that hurts horribly. It keeps me from doing a lot. But I will say everyday I have felt better. Expect to gain almost 10 lbs in water weight while in the hospital. I went in at 263.5 came out at 270 and today I'm 252.

I'm on liquids til Feb 10th ( cream soups pudding yogurt protein shakes) after that I can add seafood chicken and eggs some veggies. After 5 weeks from surgery. I will see the dietician to see what my new diet is.

Hey all! It's my second day at the hospital. The surgery went fine' date=' I had some complications but I'm all better now. I still haven't had water and I'm parched haha.

Good luck to all![/quote']

I'm so sorry but glad you're all fine now. What were the complications?

my 33 lbs includes the 2 week pre op diet. Sorry to mislead everyone. Down 13 lbs since surgery.

Lots and lots of vomiting.

I got approved this morning. Thank you Cigna! Friday is pre-op and tuesday is my surgery date. I've been busy exercising to keep my mind off of it and that combined with the liquid diet has me down 10lbs. already. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for clarifying. I was beginning to think hmmm what could I be doing differently to see that huge weight loss!

Here is the Jan sleever group - apologies I set a new one up as couldnt see all my peers!

Hi, congrats to those sleeved and good luck to those coming up.

On day 7 and doing great!

One Q - what pain meds did you all take? How long

I was on Dilaudid, and am off in day - just 1 at night to help toss and turn pain before sleep

Kevin

Hi everyone...I just had my gastric sleeve surgery on 1/15/13. I'm feeling better each day...the first 4 days were rough. I'm now trying to figure this protein requirement out and making sure I stay hydrated. I'm hoping things just get easier and easier from here. I'd love to chat with anyone who recently had the procedure to share experiences, suggestions, etc.

Take Care,

Allison

I had surgery on Jan 7th and happy to say I went from 230 and now weigh 213 that's 17 pounds down YAY. I have had a few issues but overall this was a wonderful experience.

Congrats to all January Sleevers

I was sleeved Mon 1/21. I have some cramping and when I'm drinking the liquids it feels like its getting stuck in my chest. Other than that I've been ok. No vomiting thankfully just a lil slime this morning.
