  1. All I can say is WOW! You look mahvelous!!! (In my billy crystal voice lol)
  2. It's funny cause I'm losing VERY slowly now. Almost 9 months out and down 110lbs. Still have 13 lbs to reach the top of my normal weight range but at this point I'm losing maybe a couple lbs a month and people are still telling me to slow down or that I lost enough. I feel like I'm barely changing but they seem to think I drop a pant size over the weekend. (I wish lol) I figure I will keep losing as long as I can and just hope to eventually get down to mid normal range. Only then would I think about actively avoiding losing more.
  3. I really haven't set a drop dead goal for myself yet. I know I could lose a little more. I can definitely tone which is more important than wt loss at this point. I'm still losing but slowly. So if I drift down another 20lbs over the next 6 mos I think that's great. Doubt I'm doing 30lbs. If I don't lose any more I'm still ecstatic over the new me.
  4. Ok I'm 105lbs down from my highest weight and feeling pretty good. According to my doc I should lose another 30lbs. Here's a before/after pic. Can't find any full length before pics. I intentionally took some just to have them for before/after shots and they got erased from my phone
  5. You look fabulous! I also think what my doc wants me at will be too small. When I told her I'm pretty happy right now she laughed and said everybody feels like that because being a normal weight is new to them but years down the road I will regret not losing the rest if I choose to stop. I had my hubby snap a quick pic. Just out of the shower, no bra and a sleep shirt on cause I have some cooking to do and don't want my clothes to get dirty but it'll give u an idea of where I am. oh well shoot I can't load a pic from here. Let me start another thread lol
  6. So your goal is a number that still has you as overweight? Is that a goal your doc set or a personal goal? Just curious cause I'm supposed to get down to midway between my normal weight range to allow for wiggle room if I gain some back. Just wondering what other docs are having people do.
  7. That's funny. Thank goodness I don't own a clothing boutique! My surgeon warned me that many people trade the addiction of eating all the unhealthy foods with shopping addictions. At least I spend my money at the thrift stores for now. My closet is bulging with clothes! Lord help me when I finally stop losing and feel like its ok to buy new clothes.
  8. I finally hit 100lbs down yesterday. Surgery jan 9, weight 268.6. Yesterday 168.6 exactly. My doc wants me to get to around 135 so another 34lbs to go. I took pre-surg pics but lost all the pics on my phone so I have no comparison shots to post **wait that's not true. I was 268.6 at my highest lol. Lost 40 before surgery. Down a TOTAL of 100 lbs.
  9. I will be 6 mos out on the 9th and am sitting at 172lbs. In my head I know that number is high but honestly I don't think I would be unhappy if I didn't lose any more. I feel great. I'm wearing a 10/12 pants. I can't imagine what I will look like after losing another 27lbs to reach the top of my normal range. I'm 47 yrs old and have had 5 children. I guess I just never pictured myself looking stick thin which I think now, that would be about how I end up. Am I weird? Does anybody else have like concerns?
  10. I was sleeved jan 9 and am down 95lbs. Can't wait to be able to say I've lost 100! My 6 mo appt is July 12, so that's my goal for now. Haven't really settled on a weight goal. Just going with the flow. Happy every time I can go down another clothing size. Loving my sleeve still.

I feel the same way! Love that my collarbones have reappeared!
  12. Things will get better. Just hang in there and stay with the plan. I'm sure many many people had second thoughts while healing after surgery. I'm 12 weeks out this Wednesday and wouldn't go back and undo this even if I could. That doesn't mean a part of me isn't sad that I am forever changed. I don't enjoy food the same anymore and of course that's to be expected. Yet I didn't expect it. That fairy tale of being able to enjoy most of the same foods just in smaller amounts just isn't true in my case. At least not yet. This whole process is about growing and evolving into a new person. A healthier person. You know what they say- keep your eye on the prize. Hope you start feeling better soon.
  13. Well shoot, I weighed in at 190.7 Easter morning . So close!
  14. My daughter had to have surgery both times she was pregnant. First one for appendicitis and second one for a dermoid cyst on her ovary. The only concern the docs had was it may induce miscarriage. She also had kidney stones for most of her second pregnancy so was on pain meds. The docs were ok with it but boy was I glad when that baby was born! Anyway hope your friend does ok.
  15. Glad you're feeling better christieK. I'm sure once you get back home you will feel even better. I always hate being in the hospital. Impossible to get any rest. Please keep us updated.
  16. Starting weight 268 Surg weight 228 Current weight 190 Total loss 78 lbs. started my diet oct 19, surgery was jan 9. Haven't lost anything for a few days but I wouldn't count that as a stall. Only real stall was 2 weeks post op I didn't lose for over a week.
  17. I've already decided if I can afford plastics my neck will be the first target. Hate that droopy skin. So unattractive.
  18. I'm down to 190.9 this morning! .9lbs to go and 5 days to do it. I got this!
