I haven't had my surgery yet. But when I had a hysterectomy I used the hospital gown and I took my gown which I never used because of all the stuff attached to me. I bought the pj's that were cute capri looking pants with a cute shirt I bought them a little big because the stomach gets swollen. As far as undies the hospital gave me mesh underwear which were great because it didn't have the elastic and didn't hurt the belly. They also suggested I buy bigger panties. Oh and I know many people don't like them but I bought crocks to take to the hospital. They worked perfect. You don't have to worry about bending over to put them as well as reducing the chances of falling because of the skid free sole.

I wonder if anyone can answer my question about................underwear! Can you wear them during surgery? I could when I had my lapband. The one thing I will feel weird about is if I can not wear them.

Funny I can't remember if I wore underwear or not??? I know I put clean ones on to go to the hospital that morning...hmm I wonder who took them off? Maybe I did, I'm pretty sure I woke up with them on. Once you're in lala land you won't really feel weird or anything for that matter :)

I packed some Night shirts and a comfy dressing gown, although my surgery has been put on hold.

When I had a hysterectomy the Night shirts were so much more comfortable esp with a catheter in.

One of mine is a full button shirt.

They gave me some to put on some paper things that didn’t go past my hips so I had nothing on lol

I asked if I could wear my own they said no it’s a sterile room and they don’t allow it they even give me foam throw away slippers to wear while walking down there that were removed and binned.

Not in Wisconsin. I can't find the Stuff at any Walgreens but as much as I loathe Wal-mart, I'm willing to take the leap, risk my pride and go get it. :)

I usually use PJ's when I'm away from home but was thinking today that maybe a nightgown would be better due to the incisions. Does it really matter?

I just bought two nightgowns (I'm a lounge pants/t-shirt girl). I figure they will be comfortable at home and cute if I get any visitors :)

I wore the gown the whole time... Way more practical with all the things you're hooked up to in the beginning... Went home in sweats and a big tee. You will be swollen like crazy! I just spent 4 days in the hosp with a bowel obstruction and I can't believe how pumped full of fluids I am... Probably gained 10 pounds of water... My skin hurt from stretching!

They leave you in the hospital gown due to the IV's and having your wounds checked fairly often.

Also, they had my legs in these massagers that prevent blood clots the whole time. They are attached to an air hose.

For these reasons, PJ's would be a NO.

I stayed one day and put on loose pants and a t-shirt to head home.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
