  3. I packed some Night shirts and a comfy dressing gown, although my surgery has been put on hold. When I had a hysterectomy the Night shirts were so much more comfortable esp with a catheter in. One of mine is a full button shirt.

  6. Sorry to hear this ;( My op was cancelled yesterday (Friday) and was due to have it Tuesday so I understand x
  7. Thanks all Still sinking in, just cant believe it! :(
  8. Im gutted right now My Op has been cancelled Totally devatsed Without going into too many details, Ive been Anaemic for years and on Tablets. These have never worked for me and my level has always been on the lowish side. I had a blood test recently at my GP's to check various things and one was my Iron level, unfortunately its dropped quite dramatically and even though the Consultant knew this said he would operate but not if it dropped further. After bloods at the hospital I was to know Wednesday or Thursday the outcome. It was good and everything was scheduled for Tuesday. Today the Surgeon has decided its needs investigations into why my Iron has dropped and said for my safety and his he wont operate. Totally gutted. So now ive got to wait until next Friday to see my GP and decided what other Investigations I need. Appreciate your support Guys and as you can imagine im very sad right now. I got the call whilst at the hairdressers Linda x

  16. Hello I'm booked for Surgery on August 21st, I'm in the UK and ive been on the 10 day pre op food diet as I'm Diabetic. Good Luck for you Surgery Linda
  17. Thank you It could mean I need a blood transfusion but also makes healing difficult. It also means im losing blood somewhere and as of yet they have not found where Dependant on certain investigations I may need a Gastroscopy or Colonoscopy. As long as I dont receive a call from the Hospital in the next few days Surgery is planned for Tuesday still. I have to go there early to have my bloods done again just to check and if bloods acceptable I'll be admitted in HDU x
  18. Yes they did more blood tests and yes I was Anaemic before (have been for a while) Infact when I had my bloods done at my GP surgery they couldnt measure my HBA1C (for Diabetes) as there wasnt enough red blood cells to measure. But the Surgeon knew this beforehand. Ive been having tests at my GP surgery to find out why but as of yet nothing is showing up. The Hospital will ring me if there's a problem or Infection Im hoping to not receive the call. Linda

  20. Hello everyone, hope you are all well. I saw my Surgeon today and then went for my pre assessment with the Nurse. There might be a problem with me having the surgery next Tuesday Im anaemic and they wont do anything if im too low. Also I suffered a dog bite to my finger last Wednesday and its a pretty nasty one and they are worried about Infection, even though im on AB's they took a swab and if it show's I have an Infection they wont operate. Im worried. Linda
