Would You Do The Gastric Sleeve Again?

I'm wanting view points on the gastric sleeve. If you have had the procedure would you do it again? What are the long term results? I would like to have the surgery in July.

  • Yes, I'd do it again. On July 26,2011 I weighed 370lbs. Today I weigh 184lbs. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I feel I wasted some of the best years of my life being morbidly obese.

  • So sorry to hear about your issues and I certainly wish you well and a speedy recovery. This is one thing that I do not hesitate to mention SOME CAN AND DO HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SURGERY. W

In a New York minute!!!! :D My long term goal is to be stable and healthy around 138-140 lbs.

Hey, Barb! Welcome. I don't know how many responses you'll get in pre-op. You might try reporting in the post-op thread. You can also do a search for something like "would you do it again"? I know I've seen at least two different threads like that.

Good luck on your Quest.

Yep, in a flash! It saved my life. I am now healthier than I have been since childhood.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. and Yes.

Now, had you asked me the first month I would've said no. The first month was HARD. But I'm not even at month 3 yet and I'm so happy. I feel great, I can move again, I'm out doing stuff with my friends and family, I'm walking and exercising and dancing and just flat out enjoying life like I haven't in years. And I'm still 225 pounds! I just see things getter better and better as I drop more weight.

So yes, I'd totally do it again.

I would have it done again in a heart beat! I have completely changed my old eating habits and I keep it high in proteins. Once in a while I will eat less than 1/2 of an In N Out Double double but really don't enjoy the bun anymore. i just had one and now my stomach is not liking it. Blahhhhhh! My head hunger got the best of me. I highly recommend it to whom ever is interested. ;)

Absolutely, without hesitation.

Yes, most definitely!!!!!

In a New York minute -- only 20 years sooner!!!

I'm only two weeks today, i would so do it again!

I'm only 10 days out, so I don't know what my long term results will be, but I love my sleeve already and would do it again in an instant!! If I could have lost weight & kept it off without surgery, then I would have, but I couldn't & I'm so thrilled with my choice!!

I had mine done on the 11th of this month and even though u have to relearn how to drink and eat I'm happy I did it. The sleeve makes u more aware of what your putting in it and if its a no go...quite quickly!! Lol!! Good luck!!

I am two weeks out and I would say heck yeah!!! I wish I could had done it sooner. I have not yet had any regrets! and I don't expect to ever regret it!

absolutely!!!!
