azquilter92 got a reaction from Shantelle in How Long Till I Can Take A Bath?Definitely wait til your incisions are completely healed. I only take showers,so it hasn't bothered me at all.but I know there are those who love their baths!

azquilter92 got a reaction from DZ1RMQ in Early Soft FoodsI agree, just because you advanced to the next stage4 days early is no reason for such hostility. I told my surgeon I had eaten something "earlier" than I was supposed to. His response was did it go down ok? No repercussions?.everyone heals at diffetent rates.the reason for the stages is because your stomach has to learn how to process food again and push it thru to the intestines, which is why raw fruits and especially raw vegetables are allowed last, this is from my surgeons mouth. So I think this thread has run its course people lets move on

azquilter92 got a reaction from aznurse4u in Anyone from AZfor anyone in Arizona and that would like to attend.there is a support group at TMC the first sat of the month in the Marshall center at 10.30 am.Most of the people there are banders a few bypass, I think I am the only Sleeve, so ya'll need to represent! its pretty cool Dr Monash or Dr Welle usually lead the discussions and sometimes Scott Lopez is there. He is A bariatric Nurse practioner.Everyone is welcome and most of the time there is a free Zumba class for the last 30 min

azquilter92 got a reaction from cmf1267 in Crazy Vsg Questionswhen i started this journey i wieghed at my heaviest (that I know of ) at 353lbs and i am 5ft 1. To have this surgery you do have have a lot of steps to follow thru on.Its not like you wake up one morning and say i want this surgery and a doctor says okay lets do it tomorrow! doesnt work that way, they want to be sure that you are mentally ready for this challenge. But i have never regretted one minute of it. i was always tired,my joints hurt, had no energy. and to tell the truth the pounds have come off rather easily..I am at no restrictions in what i can have to eat,but i always try to make sure i get the right amount of protien and liquids everyday.almost an obsession.I really dont want my hair to fall out,i was sleeved on March 20th and have noticied very little hair loss. I make sure i take all my supplements everyday.Would I do it again ABSOLUTELY! wish i had done it sooner

azquilter92 got a reaction from aznurse4u in Upsetthe first time I tried i tried to get approved and it was for a lap band about 3 years ago the same thing happened to me.I was missing 1 year of a weigh in at my pcp, never mind that I have 20+ years with this same pcp and plenty of records, but it wasnt in the 5 years time span that they required,so they denied my approval,i was so disgusted i gave up until later, and early this year and got approved, but this time for the sleeve,Im glad i waited to go thru the process again.

azquilter92 got a reaction from aznurse4u in Did You Or Are You Keeping Your Sleeve A Secret?I hate when they say you took the easy way out. There is nothing easy about it,it is a tool that you are given to use along with diet and exercise to help with weight lose.but like anything else you use the tool wrong its not going to work

azquilter92 got a reaction from aznurse4u in Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds Post-Op?well i love my surgeon! he and his partner, Dr Monash are the best! Both are bariatric surgeons of Excellance, the hospitals that they perform the surgeries at are bariatric surgery centers of excellance also. We have a support group that meets the first sat of the month, for all kinds of bariatric surgeries, and we discuss allkinds of things and there is a free zumba class at the end of the meeting,
I cant say enough good things about them.
