AngieG0410 got a reaction from Vance_ in Do You Ever Wake Up......Yes, I did the same thing. In reality, yes, you COULD do it without the surgery. You could lose weight, then life starts happening again and it all comes back. For me, the sleeve FORCED me into a life change. I needed that. I was queen of losing 30-40 lbs and then gaining back 50-60. I have now lost 73 lbs and feel great!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from MKambalimath in 22 Weeks Post OpMy first suggestion is to start tracking your calories on MyFitnessPal. You might be eating more than you realize. Start there. Keep track of everything that goes in your mouth - otherwise it is easy to eat too many calories.

AngieG0410 reacted to Forensikchic in Why Can't You Just Be Happy For Me?Wow.. what a narcissistic bunch you work with. I would just tell them you are doing it for you and its highly presumptive on their part to even think they had anything to do with it. Sorry you have to deal with these people. I know that whatever you say wont be enough and sometimes it feels better to just stay quiet and let them think what they will. I never have the nerve to say anything to rude people either. Maybe you could do a reverse psychology thing on them and say.. Yes, you all are exactly right.. Im tired of being the fat one and so I figured I would pass the torch to yall and live a healthy life from now on. If you have a problem being the fat one, then I suggest you look into ways of solving YOUR weight issues.

AngieG0410 got a reaction from kamrie37 in Want Honest Immediate Post Surgery OpinionsEveryone is so different with this. I had very little pain - just felt sore like I did a thousand crunches. I was tired, but not to the point that I couldn't take care of my kids. By a week and a half I felt good. I was back to work at 2 weeks. I think you will be fine. Just have the 11 & 9 year old help out with the 5 year old and you should be fine.
Good luck!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from sdb1147 in What Was The Worst... (Newbie Here!)Hands down, the worst part of this journey was the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I thought I would die - but I didn't. My advice is to do tons of research and decide which one (if any) is best for you. Choose a doctor you are confident in and go for it. You will not be sorry!!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from Cmani in Diet "cheating" QuestionMy brother and sister in law will be getting sleeved the same day by Dr Garcia!! And I wouldn't "pig out", but if you are still able to eat, I would definitely have a taste.
Hopefully you will get to meet my brother and SIL. Good luck to you!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from Lauranbob Mc in Immediately After SurgeryI was never in much pain. On the 1-10 scale, I think I only got to a 5 - and that was just sore muscle type pain. My biggest complaint was the way they had me in the bed was really hurting my back, but that had nothing to do with surgery.
You can expect discomfort. If you are in pain, they can give you meds for that. Good luck!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from 4myLuvBugs in I Am Sleeved!Hey everyone - I was sleeved on April 10!! I spent 1 night in the hospital. I am home resting now. Not too many complaints, but my belly feels very sore. Nausea has been a little bit of an issue, but I have some good meds. Slide over on that losers bench and make room for me!!!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from arj1016 in Not Thrilled About 2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet...I am in the same boat.. liquid diet starts Tuesday - surgery on April 10! We can do this. I would imagine cheating one time would be a slippery slope (for me anyway) and I would convince myself I could do it again. Fix yourself a nice big protien drink and take it to the party with you.
Good luck!

AngieG0410 got a reaction from HOPEFORDABESTMRSM in Good Way To Get Protein In... Just Fyi..I found a great way to do the Protein shake.. Mix a sugar free carnation instant Breakfast chocolate packet (5g) with 1 scoop powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury unflavored Protein powder (20g) and 1.5 cups skim milk (13g) = 38g protein. It tastes like chocolate milk. Very good!!
You could use 1 cup of milk for 8g which would lower it to 33g protein, but I wanted it a little thinner.
