Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

M scheduled for my surgery April 26th and I was curious to see who else would be walking in the shoes of April with me. Tell me how you feeling? What's on your mind? Any worries? Second thoughts?

5 days post op & feeling pretty good!!!

I have some incision pain & some gas bubbles in my back after eating (mostly drinking food still).

Haven't had any pain meds since Thursday night, so it's doing pretty well! :)

Glad you are feeling well. I am on day 4 postop and my right side of my stomach is sore, but that's about it. I also went off pain meds. I'm so glad i did!! They wanted to give me tylenol with codine, but can't take it because of the nausea. So I just bought some children's tylenol (liquid). I used it once and that was it. I don't feel I need it.

Jimmy - I thought through your questions and answered them above. It was an excellent mental excercise to go through. It was very thoughtful of you to take the time to write them down and reply. Thank you. My heart says 'go for it - you need to get your life back'' date=' my head says 'what are thinking, taking such a risk as surgery'. I have my pre-op tomorrow and will have a heart-to-heart with my Doc. Thank you again for your support and voice of reason.[/quote']

That's why I'm here for, I need us all to be on the losers bench!

Had my surgery friday morning and now everytime I take a sip of anything I get sharp pains in my chest, like indigestion. It makes a gurgling sound and then I have to try and burp. Im doing lots of walking around my hotel room.. Could it be gas? Or is this normal and will it pass? I cant even lay down w/o feeling like im gonna throw up. All ive had is water and a Lil broth. Any tips/ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am too being sleeved by Dr Garcia on April10th see you down there. Everyone will be fine, I have all the faith in the world we are in good hands. I do understand about the anxiety because I can't flipping sit still today knowing I am heading there tomorrow.

I am scheduled for April 16th. Still conflicted and scared. I feel like I shouldn't risk a major surgery that isn't 'necessary'. Although, if I don't lose this weight and keep it off, I will have health problems later in life that will make the surgery worth it. I am really having a tough time with this and I need to get to a better place soon.

I am scheduled for the 16th too and went through the same rollercoaster of emotions you're going through. JimmyGotSoul was right on with the questions to ask yourself. I arrived that the conclusion this is the best thing for me and I am now counting down the days. Good luck to you. Please stay in touch post op with me so we can cheer one another on through this journey.

I hope you are feeling better. It sounds like gas. Just try to keep up with the walking and give it a few more days and you should feel better soon. Take care!

Well my Easter dinner was my last real meal for quite a while. Starting my liquid

pre-op diet today. Surgery is 4/23. Wish me luck cause it's gonna be a longgggggg two weeks with nothing but liquids.

Update:

Started back to work yesterday and went for my one week appt. I did ok at work, though a bit tired and not as bubbly as usual. I've been having some headaches too, not too bad though. The NUT started me on protein which is nice to get some more sustainence and thicker soups. I asked the doctor about the whitish tongue and he said not a worry. He encouraged more water intake- that's still a bit difficult. Anyway, I had lost 12 pounds. So all in all, I am feeling better. Take care y'all. ;)

Way to go, Carly!!

Hi Guys

Today I started my Softh Diet, My day today will be crazy, I dont know if I can drink coffee, it is my routine and i feel pretty down, My GS will be the friday 13, the papers say that I can eat salad with chicken at dinner, but in the morning and afternoon only liquid. Right know i'm drinking a protein shake with almond milk, this is 40gr of protein, them maybe I eat somenthing else (What? I dont know), this diet in until tomorow, because the Tuesday, Wednesday and thursday will be only clear liquid and Thursday I have to drink a kind of laxantive to clean more and more my intestine, So more fun for me. I need ideas, Between my work, a Sweet husband, my mom who live with me, me 3 year boy and my 6 month baby all my ideas are gone and almost no time, and know without my COFEE :unsure:MY BRAIN WILL BE LOCKOUT.

I am too being sleeved by Dr Garcia on April10th see you down there. Everyone will be fine, I have all the faith in the world we are in good hands. I do understand about the anxiety because I can't flipping sit still today knowing I am heading there tomorrow.

Good Luck

Yay Carly!! Keep up the good work!!

Chell-- You will do just fine on liquids. The first couple of days are the hardest but once you get past them its really not that bad. I am on day 19 of 21 days of liquids. My surgery is Wed. the 11th. Just keep your eye on the prize ... liquids is a small price to pay for the reward.

Kathy

Hello Fellow April Sleevers!

I'm having my sleeve surgery on Wednesday. I lost 6 lbs on the pre-op diet so far. Hooray!!!! I'm having my surgery with Dr. Fernando Garcia in Tijuana, Mexico (self-pay). I fly to San Diego tomorrow. Say a prayer for me that all goes well.

I wish you all much success and Welcome to the loser's bench!!!!

To ursiboo 72, your guardian angels will surround you while in surgery. Be blessed and I pray traveling mercy to and from Mexico.
