  1. I'll b 4 months post op on 8/23. Honestly I haven't had any problems with eating anything I've tried thus far. Ofcourse there are lots of things I haven't tried and I try to make good choices most of the time. I have been able to tolerate everything I've tried thus far but can only eat much smaller portions than pre op. I do have an occasional junk food splurge n have had no problems. Still losing. I've also had the occasional stall here n there but the losing always kicks back n eventually.
  2. Happening to me too. Thank goodness I have a lot to begin with cause it's coming out like crazy. When is it supposed to stop or atleast slow down?
  3. Hi guys. I was 9 wks post op yesterday and am down a total of 35 lbs (27 lbs post op). I've only lost 4 lbs the whole month of June!!! :0( How can it be at a crawl so soon. I need to lose atleast 45 lbs to get to my goal. I think I feel extra bad because my surgeon is never happy when I go in for follow ups. He always makes a point of letting me know that the average patient has lost more than me in the allotted time frame and he feels i should have lost more. This only adds to my feelings of failure. **sad face**
  4. I reached 9 weeks yesterday n had 2 glasses of Reisling over the weekend (one glass each day). No problems at all. I sipped really slowly n was careful to make sure I ate before hand. I will admit that I did fell a little buzz much sooner than I would have pre surgery but I was by no means "drunk". I could however tell that two glasses probably would have been my max whereas before I could easily have polished off the whole bottle. Lol
  5. Oh I hadn't thought of that Brandy. I did A LOT of walking so u may be right. I feel better now. Thanks.
  6. So I Went to an amusement park yesterday. I shared a frozen lemonade, a cotton candy, n about 10 French fries with my hubby. Back on track today though. Don't judge me. Lol
  7. 3 weeks but I went back on light duty (desk). I'm n law enforcement so although I was ok to go back to a desk job I didn't feel healed enough to wear my gun belt with all the extra equipment on it so that's the reason for the light duty. I could probably have gone back after 2 but took one more. I found that it was a little uncomfortable sitting at a desk fir 8 hrs so I had to get up n walk around frequently. I'm still on light duty until around mid June.
  8. If my dr's philosophy was 3 mos of liquids post op I think I would have found another dr. I've never heard of that n I know for a fact I would not have been able to stick with it. My dr is pretty conservative Nd cautious but even he's not that strict.
  9. I can feel it n my throat. Hard to explain. I also begin to hiccup n burp. You'll start to know once u move on to eating more substantial foods.
  10. I can feel it n my throat. Hard to explain. I also begin to hiccup n burp. You'll start to know once u move on to eating more substantial foods.
  11. I'm 5 wks post op n find that I'm actually hungry every couple of hrs. When I am I'm not able to eat very much and am still on soft cheese, soft fish, yogurt, eggs, etc. Is this normal or should I b worried that I'm feeling hunger so frequently. I'll add that I'm sure it's not head hunger or acid. It's actual hunger.
  12. Thanks flourgirl. Your absolutely right. The last time I lost 30 lbs. it took me MONTHS!!!! If I heard this story from someone else, I'd know exactly what to say to them. It's hard to take my own advice and think in a rational way when it's me. LOL
  13. We are in the exact same boat with the exception of our surgery date. Mine was 4/23. Stats and feelings are exactly the same though. LOL
  14. I was wondering the same thing. I'm 5'8 1/2 and my starting weight was 245. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks post op and I've only lost a total of 30 lbs. 8 pre op and 22 post. I feel like I'm losing a lot slower than others and have a feeling that it's gonna take me a lot longer to get to goal. I'm so impatient! My goal is actually anywhere between 165-175. I haven't lost any weight in the last week but I'm eating so little I just don't understand it. If I think about it rationally I know that it has to come off eventually and I know all about the stalls, the body trying to hold on, etc. but my lack of patience is overwhelming sometimes. I have an irrational fear that I'll be the only one that went thru such drastic measures only to lose 30 lbs. Crazy I know. I don't think I'll feel better until I'm actually under 200.
  15. Just to clarify I am having no acid or reflux issues. I've been on Prilosec since before surgery n haven't had any issues. I also know it's not head hunger. I'll eat n then within an hour or two I'm hungry again. I'm certain it's not head hunger. I just think I need something more substantial. I think I'm gonna try the Wendy's chili n see what happens.
  16. Maybe on Sundays or Saturdays u could make several meals for the week. My mom used to do that. Make one or two casseroles to have later n the week that will only need to be reheated or crock pot meals that can be put together n the morn n ready by the time u get home then u could steal that time to get n a little workout a couple days a week. Also u should maybe ride with a little cooler n ur car so u can get n some needed nutrition on the go.
  17. My doc is super restrictive. I keep seeing where others are eating lots more than my doctor allows. I'm sick of eating the sweet stuff and I'm sick of being hungry. (
  18. I'm officially 3 weeks and one day post op today and I gotta tell ya, this liquid diet my doc wants me on until I see him again on Friday is not working for me. I'm hungry! I have actually modified my diet on my own and added yougurt and sugarfree pudding to my diet but that still is not satisfying the hunger. What were u guys eating at this stage?
  19. I'm asking because the liquid allergy meds I'm taking now are gross. I want to be able to get back to taking a single pill.
  20. I felt "better" at about a week out n went out however my mom was driving. Didn't really start to feel "good" until my drain was finally removed 10 days post op. It was crazy. I instantly felt 100% better once they removed that drain.
  21. Thx Pennie n mammabear. I gotta admit I felt a little defeated at my first post op dr's appt when he said most of his patients would have lost 20 lbs post op. I think psychologically that messed me up a little. In some way I feel like 15 lbs in 19 days is not enough. On the other hand I know this is irrational. Damn doctor has messed my head up. Lol
  22. The only way I can get n protein post op is to add Unjury unflavored powder to Dannon flavored Greek yogurt or jello sugar free pudding. I wasted money on premier shakes from Costco n can't even drink it. Gross!
  23. Sleeved 4/23 n dr still has me on clears but I gotta confess I haven't stuck to clears. I e added Greek yogurt, a little cottage cheese n sugarfree pudding. These r the only way I can get any protein n as I add protein powder to the yogurt n pudding. Can't stomach the shakes post op. Still not meeting my protein n water goals but I'm working on it. I think I've reached the dreaded stall cause I haven't lost n e thing since 16 days post op. I'm down a total of 23 lbs with 15 lost post op.
  24. I guess this is it. I'm now 19 days post op n haven't lost n e thing since 16 days post op. I've only lost 15 lbs post op n 23 lbs overall. Don't think my doc's gonna b too happy as he was disappointed n my 9 lb loss at 10 days post op. Sad face today!
  25. This is so true. I was sleeved on 4/23 and I was actually 7 lbs heavier than the day of surgery when I got home from the hospital. I was 2 weeks post op this past Monday and I've now actually lost 15 lbs post op and 23 overall. It will happen. I don't think I actually began losing until about 1 week post op so don't get discouraged.
