To ksangster, we are here for you. I get in a slump from time to time, especially this stall that I am now in. I have not lost a pound in 2 weeks. So to depress myself further, I have been eating pringles, ice cream, cookies and greasy soul food. I forgot to mention the moscato. But, the upside to that is I didn't gain, but the way I'm going, I will not reach my 6 month goal. So, starting Sunday, I'm going back to the protein shakes and baked fish. Absolutely no snacking nor drinking wine. So come on, let's do this together. We have accomplished the hardest part, the surgery! We can do this!

I am stalling really bad. If I lose 2-3 lbs, I gain it right back. Overall I'm still very please with the sleeve. Still a little uncomfortable at cookouts when everyone is pigging out and I'm picking over my food. Of course you have that nosey aunt that calls you out, why are you not eating? Are you not hungry? Are you afraid you gonna get fat again? Wow!

Good morning and congratulations to everyone! We are all winners! It does feel good to be called skinny. I use to be the biggest in my friends circle. So happy to share that I have gone from 24/26 to 16/18. One of my friends so me Friday night and asked me "where are you?" She said that I have gotten so small. Coming from that particular friend made me feel soooooooo good! I have 8 lbs to go to be in onederland. Great! So very happy to report that my blood pressure is finally considered normal. All my labs came back great. My vitamin d count went from 7 to 24, not great but much better. Overall everything is really good. Yesterday marked 4 months since my surgery and I am down 50 lbs. Lots of stalling but not complaining. April sleevers rock!

Has anyone been sleeved by Dr. Blaine Neese out of Huntington West Virginia? He is doing my surgery. He comes over to the VA hospital on Thursdays to do surgeries. I just feel funny because I have never met the man that's gonna be responsible for changing my life. I met the VA surgeon that will be assisting him. I'm on the countdown with 19 days before the big day. I was so excited and now I'm scared and on the verge of changing my mind. My only sister can't go with me now because she just had major surgery on Thursday! Can I really do this by myself? Please help, especially post sleevers that have gone through surgery. Freaking out in North Carolina!

How soon can you drive after the surgery? Im having my surgery in Huntington, WV which is an 8 hours drive from home. My surgeon is making me stay 2 extra nights due to me not living within 100 miles. I go in on April 18 and surgery is the 19. I will leave on 23. Unfortunately, the person that volunteered to go with me doesn't drive. Will I be able to make that drive home? Please help!

I was really in a bad place after reading the wonderful results of all the April sleevers. I felt like everyone was doing so much better than me. My new dietitian printed me a progress report from when I first started move, the weight loss program for veterans. I weighed in @307 March 2011. Today I weighed in @216.2. After looking at it that way, I'm definitely a winner! I'm not losing as fast as some since being sleeved, but I thank God for my loss. All of us that were sleeved are winners because we took that important step to permanently change our lives. And it feels so good to look in the mirror and actually like what I see! LOL! April sleevers are really rocking the vertical sleeve.

Hello April sleevers! July 19th will be 3 months and I'm down 50 pounds. I'm losing hair and stalling a lot. I have been at the same weight for over a week. But, the upside to that is I have gone from a size 24 to a size 18 and some 16. My friends keep telling me to stay at this size, but I want to get down to at least a 12 and will settle for 14. It feels so good to read all the wonderful success stories. April sleevers rock!!!!

Have anyone tried fried food? I want to try the new spicy mcbites at McDonald's, but I have not had fried food since before preop.

Chicken doesn't do well, very heavy. I can only tolerate baked salmon, tilapia and I'm trying flounder tomorrow. I can tolerate Tyson's grilled chicken breast fillet only if I eat it very, very slow and cut it up in tiny bits. I tried eating a baked wing today, but it made me feel too heavy. Ground beef doesn't do very well. So, I'm sticking with baked fish.

Hello everyone, have any sleevers eaten baked potato chips since being sleeved? I have such a craving for chips, but won't touch the regular chips. Please help! Also have anyone tried the fat free ice cream?

My surgeons discharge orders werw not to drive for 10 days.

My surgeon wouldn't release me to drive so my sister caught Amtrak to WV and drove me back. For real, I would not have made it if I had to drive. Please have a backup plan.

Kiki this is definitely a test of patience. When I went for my 5 weeks checkup, there was a man that lost 40lbs in 10 days, when I only lost 20lbs in 5 weeks. What a downer especially when my surgeon tried to down play why people lose different. I know its probably true, but at that time I didn't want to hear it.

Notime what protein do you drink?

I drink two protein shakes @25 grams each, salmon fillet @23 grams, or grilled chicken breast @24 grams, make up the rest eating tuna or something low in protein just to get me to 80 grams.

To linkybo you are so right. I was so anxious and a little disappointed, I guess I didn't think. At home I weigh myself with no clothes and an empty stomach. Thanks for bringing me back to reality. I couldn't sleep last night worrying about my weight! LOL

To wheetsin which protein do you drink that have 40 grams protein?

I'm amazed @my weight! On Wednesday I weighed 230, yesterday when I got to the hospital 237. How do you gain 7lbs in one day and didn't eat nor drink anything different?

Good morning everyone. I'm praying my surgeon doesn't keep me in the hospital! I will see him @10. I actually feel better, but I still need prayers. After reading some of the posts, I realized that I have not lost as much weight @5 weeks that some have lost @4. I will remain hopeful and pray that my lab is good because I have lost so I know it's working.

That's good news Jimmy! Well, my 6 weeks postop drs appointment was scheduled for the 30th, but pain in my chest and back and a terrible cough that 10 days of antibiotics didn't cure brought me in earlier. I got to WV after 5 and I have completed chest xray blood work and urine test. ER doctor said she didn't see pneumonia, thank God, but she is leaving it up to my surgeon to diagnose tomorrow. So she did say I have severe bronchitis and the antibiotics previously taken was not strong enough! Ten days of 3 times a day for nothing! Oh well I'm thankful it didn't turn into pneumonia! Please send up some prayers for me.

Have anyone experienced terrible back pain? I'm 4 weeks postop and yesterday my back started hurting and today still in terrible pain.
