Question Of The Day Tuesday

Recommended Posts

For those that have been sleeved: Besides your weight, what's the biggest change you've seen in yourself? It can be physical, habitual, emotional... Whatever.

For those waiting to be sleeved: Besides your weight, what change are you most looking forward to?

my biggest change is that i play with my kids more now. i can get on the floor and roll around with them and i can go outside and draw with chalk with my 4 year old. i actually enjoy my time with them instead of just wanting to go back inside and eat some chips and candy.< /p>

To love myself more!! Once I started gaining weight I could care less about myself. I treated my body horribly. Newly sleeved 2/29 I'm taking this as a new chance to love me and treat my body as so.

Not perfect but my attitude has changed a great deal. I'm more positive and happy.

I would say that since being sleeved I am overall just more happy. My life isn't that great right now. My fiance and I have a lot of financial problems as well as family issues and numerous other things. I find that with me shedding my extra weight I am able to be more positive about things even when the outlook may look grim.

I will be sleeved on March 23rd. There are so many things! I will be a great-grandma any day now, and I have 5 grandchildren, ages 3, 14, 17, 20, and 22. One of my personal goals is to be able to go to Disneyland and not have to sit own every hour, to be able to keep up with my family.

I am hoping to have more energy and no excuses as to why I can't do something.

Like amberj my family is my life. Playing with my kids without becoming exhausted and/or experiencing back pain is a blessing.

I like how I've changed making the family meals. I don't want my kids having the same weight problems I had. They now have less starches and more Protein. I don't keep chips or soda in the house and I swapped out fruit and veggie trays for Snacks. Even the Cereal I pick are grain, heart healthy ones. I'm hoping to end the fat cycle with me. Best wishes

My biggest change in myself is my true inner self is being revealed each day!!! I've always been a bubbly, positive person... but it was a little forced.. NOW, I'm just ME!!! One of my friends put this way last night... "You walk into a room and command it... You just are... And people respond!"...

Most of this has to do w/ just the process of choosing to have surgery and realization that I deserve to live my BEST life now... and i must take steps to preserve my life as an act of gratitude.... I'm enjoying my life, now I'm trying to find a balance between my career (that causes me major frustration, but I need the money) and my passion (music and art)...

Omg where do I start lol.. Im 2 weeks out so my journey is just beginning.. I'm looking forewarn to:

No more knee pain

A lot less or no back pain

Much more energy to play with my kids

Energy to do outdoor activities with my hubby

Being able to shop at ANY clothing store

The sense of accomplishment

So so many more but I'll try to keep it short..

I am most excited to be a good role model for my kids!! I want them to learn to make good choices so they don't have weight problems like me!

Getting good news from my doctor, instead of more bad news and another medication. Being able to accept a compliment (like "you have pretty eyes") from someone without thinking that it's the only nice thing they could say because I've gotten so fat. Feeling comfortable in my own skin rather than feeling like I'm trapped in a stranger's body. Not being ashamed to have my photo taken. Oh, the list could go on and on.

I've been remodeling a house I bought and I've been up and down a ladder painting, bending to clean and repair things, pulling staples out of the floor and on and on. I would have been so miserable doing that 60 pounds ago. I look forward to Disney World with my daughter this summer as well as the rollar coaster and Water parks here locally. My 11 year old will enjoy me alot more this summer.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
