Thanks Chelenka. My best friend from college is a pcp at a bariatric center in Nevada and she just happend to send me a text late last night telling me the dangers of not staying hydrated so now I'm walking around with two travel mugs, one with Water and the other with watered down grape juice.< /p>

I have to think about this for a second.....yea, I think I am 57. I never think of the number anymore..Having my surgery Sept 10th. I am so excited. Since I have made up my mind to do this and get my date, I have been putting weight on. I am reading about how most everyone has done the pre-diet. I was told I didn't need to but now I think I better check on this since I have been gaining. Will be so glad to get this behind me, all I do in my spare time is read the forums. I never even thought anything about doing this "at my age" until I read that others have questioned it. I am still hip and love living life. I have lots of traveling to do and looking mighty fine doing it. Looking forward to being able to pack a smaller suit case!!!!

I went on a farewell tour of all my favorite restaurants and ate all my favorite foods the 3 months before surgery...LOL! But, my surgeon required 2 weeks of an opti-fast liquid diet leading up to surgery so I pretty much lost everything I had gained. Good luck to you! I am loving my sleeve and life. And it IS great to pack a smaller suitcase!

I'm nearly half way through my 6 month diet requirement, and I have lost 7 pounds without trying this past month and a half. Somehow, at age 56, I managed to get Mono, and seem to have lost my appetite along with what energy I had. Anyway, I would also like to start the farewell tour of all my favorite restaurants, if I can manage to go and actually enjoy eating all my favorite foods. Doc says it might take 3 months for me to get my energy back, so we'll see. That will be around the time I finish this "diet" requirement and can get a surgery date!

Next summer....going on a cruise in a much smaller swimsuit! Knock on wood...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
