I messed up. Pregnant 37 days post op

I'm horrified about the what ifs. Don't know what to do. Scared to tell my surgeon. I have not been losing weight I have only lost 11 lbs post op but my blood sugar has regulated so its not all for nothing. I see a lot of people who have miscarried. Can anyone shed some light on being pregnant this soon after being banded??

I forgot to say I'm currently at 285 and have had two miscarriages in the past -_- ugh I'm so stressed out over this!!!

I agree with Missy, see your Drs.

Another thing, God does not make mistakes!!!

Wishing you all the best.

Awwww, sweetie, don't be scared to tell him, I'm sure he has heard & seen it ALL. When you say you've seen people who have missed carried, do you mean banded people?? I don't know too much about getting pregnant so soon, my surgeon required we visited a family planning clinic, and I'm on an IUD; first time ever on birth control. I'm sure there's light at the end of the tunnel for you. Don't be so scared. And MAKE THAT CALL!! (((Kisses & Huggz)))

Thanks ladies. And yes, I am referring to banded women who have miscarried. But I've also seen people stories now about people who are banded and make it out just fine. I am going to call my obgyn and my surgeon on Monday. His office never said anything to me about pregnancy at all during my times I had spent there. One of the nurses who works in his office just made a joke about how the nickname for it should be the fertile band. Pregnancy was not even on my mind, so I never even asked my doc about it. Sigh, wish me luck guys lol.

A friend who got banded 6 months after me found out she was pregnant just one month after she was banded too. She has PCOS and hadn't had a period in years until her pre-op diet, so it was a wee bit of a surprise, suffice to say! She'd had one fill so they removed it and she had an uneventful pregnancy, had a bouncing baby boy, and after she'd finished breastfeeding, they recommenced her fills and she lost all her excess weight.

Talk to your lapband surgeon and talk to your obgyn. I don't think you have anything to be stressed about. And congratulations!

Thanks lellow! I love a good happy ending. I've had only had one fill myself (this past Friday) and my dr would not tell me how much he put in. Lol he said I will try and compare with my other band buddies and its not important. I'm glad your friend had a healthy baby and pregnancy. Praying for the same

The lapband would have no effect on a miscarriage, so don't stress on that. Stress however, could. I am on band baby #2 and I've had healthy pregnancies/babies. Just get in to see your docs and work out a plan. :) You'll be fine. Congrats and good luck hun!! <3

I got pregnant one month later the band. I never had a fill so there was no reason to take out any fluid. It was really fine. After you have the baby it will just be like starting over

Sparkles-how are things going? Did you see your surgeon and confirm the pregnancy?

Hi ladies sorry I was MIA, I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I am looking forward to using my lapband to help me move forward! I will say I am a diabetic and I did gain a little weight :( I never even got to see my surgeon but I did call his office and they told me to just keep my follow up appt with him. Hopefully the next time I get preggo will be a success!! Thanks girls <3

I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriage and I wish you luck in the future.

Im so sorry to hear about your miscarriage *hugs* All the best with your band journey and before you know it, you'll be half of you and be physically ready for a beautiful baby bump

Best wishes for the future!

I got pregnant 3 weeks after surgery, I was devastated, I was 41 married and had 2 kids, I never planned anymore, I just wanted to diet not have kids kinda thing, I considered all options. 7 weeks later I miscarried and it actually upset me a lot but I got on with the diet and put it behind me.

I had gone 8 years using the withdrawal method and never got pregnant.

Two months after that, low and behold I was pregnant again, unplanned. This time it was a shock, but after losing the last one, it put babies v diet in perspective. I continued dieting, lost 75lbs (45lbs whilst pregnant) and had my band de-filled by 2.0ml at 20 weeks. My pregnancy was great, loved it!

I lost 28lbs within 2 weeks of giving birth .. I guess that was baby weight gained and with bump and baby weight gone I was a new person - so much smaller than I thought I would be.

My son Nixon is now 8 months, he is a joy and the best thing that has ever happened to us. I have maintained my weight whilst breastfeeding but had my band filled last week so I can continue my lapband journey.

Lots of people get pregnant whilst banded ... the weightloss changes your fertility for one thing. Dont think its the end of your diet, just keep eating healthily, put your baby first, be sensible, listen to your Doctor. I was a plus sized Mum to all 3 of my kids, dont be embarrassed, we have the right to have kids like everyone else and we dont all have complications, there will always be bigger moms than you, the nurses have seen it all.

I started the journey at 325lbs, now about 260, long journey still ahead ... and a cute baby boy to accompany me with it.

Be prepared for when life throws you a curve ball!

Good luck x
