  1. I had my surgery done 8/12/13 my weight before surgery was 451lbs, my weight the day of my surgery was 431lbs, and my weight as of yesterday was 348lbs. I just recently got over a 9 month plateau. I have yet to have a successful fill so I've basically been losing on my own. During my plateau I tweaked my diet and my exercises.

    I did not need WLS...

Wow I'm glad you didn't get upset after that situation but I know I would have! I would have said a few choice words and then emotionally drank a chocolate flavored protein shake just because I was upset! .:high five:. For being the "bigger" person!!

    Another question, strong hiccups?

I had/ have the same thing. My hiccup like spasms hurt really bad for about the first 2 weeks after surgery then the pain subsided. I still get them when my stomach is empty and when I've eaten enough food. It is very annoying but it's kind of helpful also.

    water aerobics

Hello bandsters! I had my surgery 8/12/13 as some of you know and I was recently cleared by my doctor to do water aerobics and I started today! I absolutely loved it, me and my sister decided to do it together and even though we where the youngest ones in the class we had a ball the older adults in the class where very welcoming and supportive. I chose this workout because I have knee joint problems and I have issues out of my ankles sometimes and being in water working out felt wonderful. I just wanted to share my experience with everyone because I know you guys understand me and the things us chunky folk have to go through! love always, Steph

  19. Hello all I was banded 8/12/13 I'm down 45lbs as of this morning. I am currently in school I go to class at night and I work during the day. When I'm at work having all my extra energy is great I get lots of stuff done in half the time I did pre-band. But at night when I'm in class which the teacher talksand I just listen for 3 hours literally I have trouble staying tuned in if you know what I mean...I can look at the teacher throughout the entire class and not even absorb 1/3 of what he's saying because my mind is on 30 different other topics. When I need to sit down and do homework or study the house can be completely quiet but my mind is focused on a trillion different things and when my mind does "settle down " enough where I can half way focus could i can't sit still for long. So needless to say I'm not doing too hot in school:(....Am I crazy!?....please tell me someone else has this issue. What can I do?

Finally someone that relates! I'm always under stress but I have noticed the more stress I have the worse it gets. Who can diagnosed ADD I don't want to be labeled something that isn't accurate but I do want to know what exactly I can do about it like different exercises or yoga....vitamins, different foods something!

Yes the surgeon interviewed me my primary doctor refer me at all I knew I needed help so I went right to my surgeons office! But they simply ask you questions and make sure your healthy, motivated, and informed about the surgery and what life will be like with the band. I was in an out in 30-35 minutes with my surgeons approval! Keep the questions coming I love them!

The seminars are very informational the one I went to we watched a video and the directed of the seminar was banded also so I got to ask her the pros and coins of being banded. After my seminar and after I made my final decision I called my insurance and asked them exactly what they required me to do because some insurance companies are stricter than others. Afterward I scheduled my psych eval then I had to see the nutritionist and finally the surgeon before my application was sent to the insurance company. You can certainly ask me anything you like I'm not as knowledgeable as some veterans on her but I try:) I'm 21 and I was banded on 8/12. Good Luck!!!
